i love playin as commander whenever i get the chance. i have had my share of problems technically as being commander (stated in previous post), but i find it too be a blast. anyway... the thing that totally annoys me to hell is when you tell a squad leader to "attack" or "repair" and he instantly respond "ok!", but doesnt even budge from his position. whats the point of playing as squad leader if you are not goin to do your job? they sit in one spot the entire round not ever tryin to cap flags or repair(even if you can plainly see that they have an engineer in the squad)? ive had my share of rounds lost due to these idiots. the commander can only do soo much if they are actually commanding. i would much rather drop supplies on my team then to have to waste my crates on repairing all my ****. i even go as far as trying to communicate w/ these "leaders", but they never respond to anything i say, cept "OK!".
my advice to such individuals: BE A LONE WOLF. the commander needs the support of his squad leaders to ensure a sucessful round. jus a minor bitch about such a fun part of the game. anyone else wanna share your stories or whatnot about what really p****s u off while playin commander feel free to post here.

Hmm how bout, my squad and I have setup a really good defensive position and we know the enemy are on their way, and the commader continually tries to tell me to attack another postion on the otherside of the map.

That REALLY annoys me.

Because the commander can see the location of all the enemies and all of the friendlies and he may know something that you don't?

well, first of all, i always ask the squad that is closest to the position that i am asking them to attack. in the rare cases i do request an attack "across" the map, is when the team has no other flags to cap. i cant even go there w/ ya dude, since i know that u have played commander abit yourself. you should realize that sometimes the commander knows a little something that you may not. its just frustrating to see a whole cluster of guys sitting at a flag that is ours when there are several that needs to be capped (ummm.... how you win the round dude. you should know this). when i am commanding i stay in my commanders screen and command. unlike others who enroll as commander and just run around in a helicopter. my point? i do know what is going on. and yes, chances are, i know a little bit more than you at that particular moment in the battle.

bear in mind one of the squad leader responsibilities is to stay alive so his squad can spawn at him.

Yes it is annoying when people dont do as you ask when your commander but often co0mmanders will order you to do stuff thats plain silly given your posotion, but i guess you should just hit 'no' in that situation.

I was playing commander last night on Wake on Chinese side. Kept getting arty blown by a guy and kept requesting repairs from 2 squad leaders. Neither one would do it. So I started dropping supply crates to get them repaired. This guy was camping the arty area. He would go up to the supply crate, reload his C4, then blow the arty again. I could see him in the zoom and kept spotting him for the squads, but no one would go kill the guy. Oh well, got my Veteran command badge in the process! :laugh:

you are right, when beeing a commander you tell squads to do this and they say OK, but don't do it.
If they would say , NO WAY MAN , I wouldn't mind, everybody can do his own thing the way he feels.

When I am a squadleader, I don't listen to the commander to half the time, but I clearly say NO!! (even when some commander just keep giving you orders every 2sec).

Why do I not listen to orders all the time, well, because some commanders just suck, or just don't realy know what is going on

I have no problem what-so-ever with squad leaders or any other player doing what they want, when they want. If someone wants to sit at one flag all map and not repair (even if they are an engineer) thats their choice and i wouldnt want them to change there style of play because of me, as a commander....... BUT what frustrates me sometimes is exactly what the thread starter wrote..... Squad leaders that "OK" an order but then ignore it completly, i mean how hard is it to press the other key "negative" once in a while so at least i know what they are doing (or not doing)

Its gets silly sometime when every squad accepts the order and then when you look 1 minute later they have all gone to different places WITHOUT setting up there own waypoints or letting me (as commander) know WTF they are really doing. Any one of many simple steps would make the job of commanding so much easier: setting their own waypoints, TALKING to me on the microphone, refusing orders, typing any small message to me, etc, etc

Many times i have have been ordered somewhere but already been on the way somewhere else, a simple "negative" "sorry" is good enough, but i tend to get straight on voice comms and let the commander know why i refused the order, what i am really doing, and lastly if he wants me to go there next OR if he is sending someone else. Try it sometime, ask him WHY he is sending you there? and i good commander will have a good reason.

It makes for a much smoother and fun game all round i think. The motto of this story is that refusing commands is perfectly OK, but remember the commander sees a lot more then you, and if you help him do his job then your team can be an unstoppable force.

exactly! i have no problem w/ squads saying "no way man". thats the choice they make, fine. but in regards to ppl saying that maybe they kno something that the commander doesnt, i find that hard to believe. maybe its because i actually command and not take the position then run around being a "flyboy" or whatever. if you are gunna be an engineer, fix something besides the BH that you are riding with, like the teams assets. hugh.... thats a novel idea.

On occasion I will become a squad leader when I am sniping or setting an ambush for a Blackhawk and need supplies. Since only squad leaders can ask the commander for supplies, it's a necessity. But I do agree with you. I disband my squad after I received supplies.

I had a guy the other day reply 'negative' to every freaking order I tried sending to him. He finally said yes when I asked him to attack their uncappable flag...that's all he wanted to do was freaking spawn rape. So, I made sure to spam the same request to him several more times, since that was what he had his mind set on.
