I feel the frustration of this also.
I was commanding the Chinses forces on Daquing Oilfields and 2 of my squads were just lone snipers and responded negative to everything I said.
So I blasted down the line for them to go unassigned. Totally useless.

On the flipside, I hate commanders who hand out ridiculous orders. Examples:

- I am at a flag defending (with C4 set up and all) and the commander instructs me to go attack somewhere
- I am at one end of the map attacking one flag, and the commander tells me to attack another flag at the opposite end of the map

The difference between me and the squad leaders in your post is that, when you give me stupid orders, I say "no".

Expect that many squads leaders will not follow your orders, rebuke them now and then and move on. Lots of squad members don't even fight/ spawn with their squad, they likely just want the backup spawn option if they lose all their flags.

Anyway, support as best you can and don't answer any of their requests. I usually just support the next spawn in a line which is where most of the lone wolfs [on a squad or not] are gonna go next. If you see a bad guy trying to take a deep spawn then order the closest squad to defend and spot the crap out of the bad guy.

My peev is when you have half your team waiting in a middle spawn [dragon valley] while the rest are 3 flags away trying to cap the last one.

when i dont have an engi in my squad i wont follow the order...ill follow deomlitions because im usually special ops...

and if a commander tells me to go to the other side of the map to capa flag when im approaching a much closer one then i will once again say no..

i only comply with reasonable and well made orders...

I don`t give orders anymore. I found it best to let the team do what they must. "Most" people know what they are doing.I don`t insult them with orders anymore, I simply support them any way I can. I`ve had better luck winning when I let the Squad leaders manage their own objectives.

It's frustrating to have squads not do anything. Sometimes a squad might not follow my orders but they are sticking together and doing some fighting. I will support these with UAV, CRATES AND ARTY. The ones that never do anything I will ignore and not provide them with any help.
