Lesser bugs? That's not even close to proper grammar. And BTW, the bullets on the helicopters have explosive heads so there is splash damage. A note about the change in the ranking system. It is much better than it was before. Realistically it would take someone several years to get all of the unlocks and that was a severe disappointment for most people that don't live with their parents and have the time to play 10hrs a day. Grow up n00b and quit starting accounts in forums to complain about a much needed patch.

I'm sorry but I will throw my two cents in.

All of these people who bitch about stuff, all I can say is this. I have TRIED to get my BF2 to fail, and cannot do it! I uninstalled, reinstalled about 8 million times in different locations, tried patching incorrectly, etc, etc, and still my game works flawlessly.

My conclusion is it is the person installing it, or crappy hardware that causes problems. Which isn't anything ground breaking.

I have to disagree. My system is a state of the art gaming machine. It took me at least 10 hours to get the patch applied. How i finally did that was copy a full patched install to this machine from my older PC. Then it took me another 5 hours to get over the invalid cd issue. There is NOTHING installed on this PC but games and firefox, nothing. It is also a fresh install of xp pro, all drivers brand spanking new.

I have built dozens of pc's. There are no hardware or software conflicts whatsoever on this machine. Now for you people to tell me, or any other of the thousands of people that cant install the patch, cant play due to the cd issues, all the crashes to desktops, or whatever other reason exists to render the game useless is their fault is simply ignorance on your part.

Because you people in your infinite wisdom have managed to master the double click on an .exe and not experienced any problems, I commend you. For the others lacking in such technical abilities as the double click, or even highly advanced maneuvers such as the "copy and paste" EA and DICE should have made a patch for us lesser computer savvy people. As a matter of fact, with the advanced knowledge you possess, you may very well qualify for a position on the beta testers team!

After now playing for a few hours under the new patch, I have mixed emotions. The game does run smoother. With everything on high, 4x AA prior to the patch i was averaging in the 65-85 FPS range. Now im up to 80-100 range. The unlocks I like. From day one I thought it was a bad idea to tie the unlockable weapons to stats. The playing field became unfair almost immediately as the pimply faces spent hours a day working on the unlocks.

I will go so far as to say that online persistent stats was the biggest mistake of the whole game. If you cant see that they did this to monopolize the server market, your blind. The great mod and map making community are screwed as EA will never allow custom maps or mods on an official server. With the lack of good content, the community depends on such things to keep a game alive.

Im happy with the new map views. The blue and red name bug seems like it happens much more now. Im not in complete agreement on having just the driver get cap points. Personally i would have gone to people not in an armor position do not get points, but having mounted gunners bail is a little over the top. All in all, if it weren't for the massive problems getting people back online and playing, i would be satisfied with it, but not much more than that.

Well listen Redrum, you are right about King of chaos, he is very ignorant along with many others that dont have issues and just simply hit install patch and everything works. I find it funny how with all these 0's and 1's people talk about that nothing should go wrong etc. However, why is it that different computers, made by Dell, hp whatever, custom, you name it, they all run on binary numbers have some sort of problem. Weird. I will ignore your post king of chaos.

As for JMUdukes post: People dont need to play 10hrs a day to get higher ranks, if you know how to play the game right, and know every trick and tip you can get a high rank by gettingm assively high scores doing many things in one round. Dumby boy. You need a life if you are gonna come and "create accounts to complain about a much" worthless patch.
