Once, I was playing as China in Dragon valley and a blackhawk was parked on one of the silos at the Chinese Airport. It was not on the minimap and the player flying it had a red nametag.
I was the pilot in the chinese attack chopper and my friend was gunner. We were both in voice communication with each other. He told me it was friendly, but my eyes told me to shoot since it had a red tag. So I did.
Low and behold, it was friendly. The chinese guy I killed stole it from the US carrier.

EA says they can't recreate this bug so they can't fix it. I say BS. Its happened so many times to so many people someone at EA must have seen this.

What ****es me off is BF2 was delayed for so long so they "could get it right" but all i've seen is crap. Its pretty and all, but crap.

I was playing Strike on Karkand when I noticed a player who was in MEC camo but had a red nametag as an unfreindly instead of the blue and was not listed on my HUD. The pics are Medium quality and u might have to squint a little to tell but the player is obviosly a MEC soldier on a MEC team with a RED nametag and NOT on the HUD map listed as either. Sorry about the quality and graininess but Karkands dusty anyway so u understand.

Were you playing as MEC?

This is what is most pathetic about the problem. I have been a software developer for years and have never had a bug I couldn't track down. Sure, it may be hard to re-create, but that's when you have to start crawling through the code line by line until you figure out where the logic is broken. That Dice cannot find the problem and fix it is a prime example of code-bloat (e.g. unmanageable code).

OR .. buggy lib .. I know JDBC connector for MYSQL has so many misteriuos bugs .. that I was thinking of writing one myself ..

Not a problem I suspected a reg tag error. I rarely get annoyed at people TK me as it happens in the heat of battle (well apart from the fools who blatantly tk for a vehicle)

The first time I kicked into the new 1.03 patch, it was the map from the demo (can't remember the name), and I was 'red' for both sides, I had like 5 teammates kill me in about 2 minutes. Sucked big time!

It happened to me too. RED tag. looked on the list of players and he was listed on the other side too. I was rather Pea-ed when he punished me, even after I told him, thet he was showing up red and that I might kill him later on. (you know how it is, - I aint gonna check even name before I shoot - done that once, and died).
BUT, other people in the game told me he was on MY side, so the bug wasnt showing up for everybody.
It was a clan member - -EGO-potter ... I have no respect for clans now, as this arsehole punished me twice, and I explained wot was happening and I expected him to know about the bug. Clan members who punish is well gay anyway. I expect more from advance players ---- well I think that clans are/shouldbe advanced players

New version of this happend to me last night twice that never happned to me before. Somone one from the other team was coming up Green like he was in my squad. When i went to the page that showed squads, it showed him in mine, but he was on the other team. WTF

Yeah, thats another problem. I went to join the EGO squad to voice cuss this arsehole, but it wouldnt let me join even thou it was showing 5/6 in the squad - cos he was listed on the otherside, so not in the squad. But he was. Confused?

Look .. I know this kind of bug is REALLY hard to fix .. cause .. a bug that occurs sometimes .. and not allways is hard to detect .. if you we're a programmer and had a little clue about programing this kind of project .. you would understand .. that if you cant find a cause .. you cant find a bug .. thrust me i know !!! .. I've exeprienced this kind of unusual behaviors many times and I've came across this kind of bug double many times .. So if they say .. We cant reprocude the bug .. We cant fix it .. you should understand it like .. We cannot find the exact same conditions to reproduce the bug every possible time ! Cause when they do that .. trust me they will fix it .. in three monts you can reprograme a lot of stuff .. maybe they/we're lucky enough to find the conditions to fix it in the next patch .. let's just keep our fingers crossed !

Oh, and you're right. It's very hard [read:impossible] to fix a bug in program unless you know the conditions in-which the bug is being produced. Other than that. You're screwed.

yea this has happend alot, i was playing wake island the other day, i spawned at the begining and proceded to the northern tip....Boom shot by a sniper on my own team..i was like wtf, nice shot azzhat i always forgive but made a comment to the tker, spawn again run down boom shot again by the same guys...wtf again i forgave but started talking some shizzle to the guys asking if he has cleaned his monitor latley. i then spawn again, but not going back that way, i go for a jeep and team mate kills me....by this time im getting really ****ed and in the next 4 spawns i get tkd by two guys at that spawn...man i was not forgiving anymore. by this time one of the guys got wise, and told me that i was showing up red. ohhhhhh crap, i felt really bad about punishing these two guys at the spawn, i layed down in the grass and apologized to the guys again.

Well it turned out to be an easy fix, i disconnecet and reconnected, and then it was fixed. this bug totally sux because if you dont know your red and you are a noob autopunisher or Azzhat then a lot of peps will get neg scores i hardly ever punish, i only started punishing after the 3rd tk in a row the min i was told what was happening i apologized. i would never punish if i had know why i was getting shot at by my own boys. well to bad most peps are not like that, i think a lot of pep enjoy punishing others it makes them feel tough or something
