Just curious. I might tone my resolution down so I can run my game with higher graphics. I'm on 1280x960.

I have a 21" CRT also. I dunno though if I should lower it for more eye candy.Originally posted by Gulf_War_SyndromeJust posted this info on another thread...
1600x1200@120Hz, low-med detail settings. I prefer the high resolution for my 21" CRT.Comment

Well, I guess give it a try for a day or two and see what you think!Originally posted by Black OpsI have a 21" CRT also. I dunno though if I should lower it for more eye candy.
Like any normal geek would, I do keep experimenting with a few settings and/or GPU overclocks every now and then. I just keep remembering that the higher graphics settings don't always make huge difference to actual picture quality, while still impacting frame rates.
The higher settings don't always make the enemy easier to see or shoot either!
It all depends on what you personally prefer, within the limits of your particular CPU/graphics combination of course. I prefer high resolution and high frame rates. I don't have time to watch the scenery when I'm in the middle of a warzone!
If I wan't to watch the water, grass, trees, birds and flowers I'll play Far Cry... that game had pages of graphics options! In case you didn't know, graphics options are cool. :rock:Comment

Re: What Resolution Do You Guys Play On?
i play at 1600x1200, with no aa/af. it looks good.
my chick plays with me at 1024x768, no aa/af, but she could. she has a crappy lcd which she loves, which has a native resolution of 1024x768, so she can't go higher.
and for the people that say 1280x1024 runs better than 1024x768, when you are running at a lower resolution, you are putting more of the strain in your system on the processor. when at a low resolution, the video card doesn't exactly have to strain much, and your cpu is playing catchup. when at a higher res, the workload falls mainly on the video card, which can do more, and everything works better :PComment
