Pump up your res higher, try out 1280x960 even 1280x1024. And 4xAA is a must for any game, so put that on. You have 1.5 gb of ram so you can handle the higher AA and res.

I tried raising my res by 1152x864 (that's the highest my monitor can get) and turn on 4x AA. Run CS:Source's video stress test and I got the same fps as 1024x768 without AA. However, I feel uncomfortable with the res (I only have a 17" monitor) so I lower it back to 1024x768 yet leaving AA on.
Thanks. Now I feel confident playing with 4xAA. Everything looks better now.
