G36C Overrated?

Not to offend the G36C aficionado's, but I honestly can't see why everyone loves this gun so much. In terms of accuracy it's virtually the same as the other Spec Ops guns on single shot, and probably worse than M4 and AK74U since you don't get the simple red dot to use for aiming. Same with damage, virtually identical.

The only upside to the gun is its recoil, which will definitely help in mid to long range shooting - but, everyone uses single shot for mid to long range anyways - so what's the point?

Could anyone enlighten me please? I personally don't have it unlocked, simply because whenever I wanted to test it I'd just pick up any spec ops kit off the ground, and there would be a 80% chance I'd get a G36C anyway.

I love it cause since i unlocked it i am getting alot more kills i find it more accurate the the M4 and the AK i think it is a matter of preference some will find it easier to use some wont

It's a laser - for players who can line up headshots, there is no better weapon. It was my first unlock and I get sick of using it sometimes and switch to a wilder weapon, like the G3, for a little challenge and change of pace.

No offense, but you got some data wrong. Here's the real data:

It has lower minimum deviation (better accuracy) and less recoil. THe red-dot doesn't make the AK or M4 any better, it just looks kool, It doesn't provide any more zoom than iron sights. G36C may be a teeny wee bit overrated, but i still prefer it above all other carbines.

G36C has a single-shot mode? That's funny, I've never found it necessary to switch, even when I'm sniping people from a couple hundred meters.

I love that gun and i just unlocked it, my first unlock. So accurate and powerful on burst or auto.

Disagree. The red-dot is much easier to use when lining up headshots - you just place the little red dot over the target, as opposed to balancing the target's head on the end of the iron sight pin, as with the G36C.

The red-dot also allows for greater visibility and tracking, especially if you're at an elevation and the target is running toward you (moving "down"). The iron sight gets in the way of the target's path, whereas the red-dot scope is clear on all sides.

It may not matter to some folks, but don't discount its advantages.

I unlocked this last night, can't say I'm totally impressed either. I prefer the L85 more plus I can heal people too, I won't be using spec ops more than before just because of the gun.

The gun is great because of its capability to burst fire fairly accurately at long ranges, something most guns can't do.

However it's overrated simply because many spec ops players unlocked this gun, and they don't want to think their unlock is merely the slight upgrade it's meant to be. So they started the "g36c is awesome!" bandwagon, with multitudes of hapless clones hopping in. These clones (otherwise known as "tools") are the ones who really started the craze, as they don't really understand why it's better, but because everyone on the forums says its good they think it's good as well.

Don't get me wrong, I can now somewhat understand the virtues of the G36C. But I think it's given a little too much undue credit. It's a great unlockable, just as how the G3/PKM/DAO-12/JH/L85 are great unlockables.

EDIT: I've re-read my post and the second paragraph sounds a little too harsh for what I had in mind. I understand that most people that unlocked the G36C did it for their own reasons, so please understand that I don't imply you.

lol I always go MEC if I want to play medic so I could use the AK 101 because the rest suck including the L85 :dead: I would rather use a pistol.

China's AK47 is better than AK101 (one less hit to kill armored soldier) and all pistols are the same except the sights.

It is slightly overrated, but it is just that good, full auto sniping, I can get 3 shots with 5 bursts probably.

Its not greatly overated, you suck if you don't think its an awesome weapon lol.

G3 is just as good though. i love g3 also.
