You should not have bought the game, then. The unlock feature *is* prominently displayed at the EA site:

KEY FEATURES

• Character Persistence and Growth. With in-game success, players increase their rank from recruit all the way to General and unlock new weapons, medals, and more.

It's also displayed on the back of the box.

Too bad you're unhappy with the game, but it's ridiculous to buy it, knowing it has an "unlock" feature, and then complain about it.

The patch made things much better, imo.

For those who complain about the ranks having no respect.. I would say
youre giving too much value to them in the first place.. I never pay
attention to anyones rank in the game.. it just means some people play
more than others..

Agreed! They lowered the rank requirements, they didnt lower anybody's score. Those people are still at the same position on the ladder as before. At 300 or so points a day, it would take almost 2 years to reach 2nd Lt. at 200,00 points. Some people don't want to wait around that long to be on the same playing field as the ones who can play 8 or 10 hours a day. ( getting all the unlocks)

i jumped two ranks just today lol it sucked before...1000points just to go one rank up....made me feel like a n00b for ages.

Whats REALLY strange is the fact that theres censorship in a game based on KILLING PEOPLE.

The game's so good people want it to be perfect.

IMO the ranking is fu**** up now , I don't have the feeling I Accomplished something now, when I went up 3 Ranks Almost 4, only need the pistol and knife badge which is pretty hard to get. It's just plain wrong. Everybody can get ranks up JUST LIKE THAT easy peasy, no effort .. on the other hand people with little time on they hands, can get unlocks now to.. so it might be fair to, but still.. I miss that good feeling of having something others didn't have.. because I worked hard for it.

i like new sounds and how it is easier to get a rank...now i mite spend more time actaully trying cuz its now possible to get promoted to a high rank

I still feel the ranks should require badges/medals/ribbons and not just points.... I mean a few do but I think they all should...IMO that would be a much better judge of skill....points is just how long you play the game....granted some of the badges and ribbons are aswell..

Side note/off topic....

ConscriptVirus - how badass is rambus.... I have a gig in one of my machines and that shizzle is soooooooooooooooo fast....

I like the patch but it aint perfect.

Issues:
1st when i first dled i got A modifed content message and soon couldnt join ANY server. Fixed that then added a Prefix to my ranked account, then later went on to my non ranked for a clan match, but lo-and-behold i know have TWO count em TWO clan tags making me *(TF)*-{TF}-FordMustang. great.

Cool things:

Ranks: Way better imo but maybe a little to low. bump up just a tad more maybe and bingo perfect.

Sounds: FAV sounds awsome but the LAV sounds like a lawnmower to the max, but actually more realistic.



Now just make it so the Red name glitch is gone and Server browser works better and we can change our whole name and i think this game is perfecto!.

Yes overall I do, its a shame that overall people focus on the negative, there has been some serous improvements on the game, of course it ain't perfect.

(And no I'm not an EA/Dice fanboy, nor do I work for the said companies)

Disagree ... I think its great that you CAN'T change names. It keeps the kiddie tking asshats from coming in the servers, Tking the hell outta people, leaving & changing names, then come back & do it again. This way if there is a problem with certain people tking, at least you know who they are the next time they come in. This was a MAJOR problem with other games, being able to not only change IP & CD keys(******), but also name change. They want to keep making new accounts, great! That way you'll also be able to tell if they are Habitual tkers who keep making new accounts because the are PFC or Lcpl. If they want to keep the same account, then it will show up on their Stats & I hope EA/DICE deals with them. Makes it much easier to rid the gaming community of this ignorant crap!

for those that have been in an apc turret it is pretty damn accurate

beforethe patch came out i could here foorsteps from outside the tank sure signs that some snaeky spec ops or engineer was coming to wreck my day so great improvement in sound
i like new ranks gives the less fanatic players a chance to get a weapon or badge or two

love the new anti air .. tired of getting chopper raped....

all in all ea/dice going the right way making a fun game even more fun

But they could do so you could change your name ONCE, but only once.
