Whilst I agree that the ranks were lowered perhaps a little too much, the fact that now most infantry will have some sort of unlock makes the game a lot more enjoyable for all concerned.

There seems to be more teamwork and the fact that your oppostition will have access to much the same infantry weapon inventory as you, means your skill levels will need to increase.

Whoever thinks that the ranks were set too low? WELL ..... You can thank ALL the stat padders & Lazy assed BH whores. Seriously ... Lets give them a BIG round of applause. Because of your incessive ignorance to playing fair & on the up-and-up, you have allowed EA/DICE to make sure that stat padding is NO LONGER allowed. You think that you would have EVER reached those high ranks w/o padding or BH whoring? (In the amount of time that the ones at the top have played) I think the Ranks are fine now. So to ALL those who have padded points & BH whored it up .... Thank You ! Thank You very much! Muaaah!

Oh ...BTW ..If anybody thinks that the ones at the top didn't pad points occasionally (including BH whoring), Then YOU are an Idiot!@

Most infantry <b>did</b> have an unlock before the patch, the 1000GP Lance Corporal unlock. I don't care much for the new ranking system. Unlocks were something special before the patch came out, and now they're no big deal at all. It seems like every AT soldier I come across has the DAO-12, every special ops soldier has the G36C, every medic has the L85A1. These were popular unlocks in the first place, but now <b>everyone</b> has them. Hell, the default guns are becoming a rarity.

The ranks are fine,just because you dont have to spead all day playing for 3 mouths to move up in rank doesnt mean nothing,people who actually have lifes can now enjoy new ranks every once in awhile

I'd rephrase that by saying "Those who choose to do other things with their time i.e family, carrer, g/f, or another hobby...whatever can now feel like they are getting somewhere and the playing field is leveled a bit"

Someone pointed out a great thing, this IS an FPS not an RPG. Lets focus on getting the potentially AMAZING teamplay expierience rolling. That's where the really cool stories of the "OMG, This match I was playing I..."

They've always existed. Aim at the head and click (sniper, of course). :)

Personally, I don't mind them lowering the rank requirements. You still earn the points, do you not? I'm waiting for my stats to update. Joined a server and ranked thrice. Nearly wet my pants.

Well i dunno aye seriously... You all had the oppertunity to read the requiremens for the ranks and see what you were in for, obviously it wasnt your game to begin with. You bitch, winge and wine about how hard it is... diddums! I had my 2unlocks and was happy with them (yes i have a gf, lucky for me she loves BF2 as much as I do so we both play together every night). But now you all have what you want, everyone has the same gun, the same chance you all do.. hell why play as a team tk can be fun if your drunk its not like points will get you anywhere now. The ranking system was designed to encourage you NOT to TK and to help your team out. I have not had a good team game since the patch came out, all i see is lone wolves and 1 man squads on ranked servers.

You have to play on a ranked server and get the promotions then after approx. 1 1/2 hours you quit out and when you restart the game it says congrats......

you may wanna try quiting out every 20 minutes or whatever. You will keep 'getting promoted' until it registers.

All the new ranks were earned by all, you earned the points just on a tougher system. The old way was too tough but I think they shoulda double what they have now. I play likely 2 hours a day on average since the release and have 15000 global and all but 2 unlocks that I don't even care about; Medic and AT.

Better than the old system and lets more people max their awards; I'm the kinda guy who wants to earn every badge there is, woulda taken 2 years the old way.

I like it.

Plus no more A-holes TKing you for your M95.

Yeah, unlocks shouldn't be too hard to get anyways, i'll be at gunnery sergeant in notime, as well as my 5th unlock.

Yes, but they probably only had one, maybe two weapons.

Now the majority will have at least 4-6 unlocks available to use, which is a better deal all round I think. :)

I don't think that an FPS should EVER have newer better weapons based on points. Ranks, medals, badges, etc is fine for points but Good grief. Some people didnt get the game right when it come out & alot of people STILL don't have the game. That would be kind of lame for someone to buy the game 6 months after it come out & go play online & EVERYONE else has unlocked weapons & an unfair advantage (so to speak). Its just stupid. They should have NEVER had unlocks .. PERIOD. They should have just put in the best guns for each kit that kept the game balanced & been done with it.
