My disk snapped...

I noticed a while ago it had a crack on the inner part. But as I never take it out the tray I didnt think anything of it and now I got some read errors and I checked and the crack has gone about ____ much across the disk.

Am I able to play with a crack(the downloaded one) or will punkbuster bust me for doing so?

if you installed the game from the official disk i believe you can play from an image. Dont apply a cracked exec, this will get you kicked

i thought you could play with any of the cds that came with the game, thats how bfv worked.

I think you can contact EA and they will send you another for a small fee. Next time make an image and play from your hard drive. I've been going it with other games for over a year. Can't beat never having to find a disk and put it in a drive. Just click and go...

even with the cd version you have to use Disk 1

Get it replaced...If you use a cracked(broken) CD in a high speed drive then it could shatter to pieces and seriously screw up your drive, I've seen it happen.

Never use a cracked disk

Why? When that crack reaches the other side while the cd is spinning around happily in the tray, it will will disintagrate(sp?). You do not want that, itll break into a thousand pieces that will clog up the insides of your drive. And thats if you are lucky, if you are unlucky it just wont ever work again. otherwise.. it will be working, but it wont open/close. :hmm:

I managed to save my drive.. but not after having to open it up, take it apart and everything, and it never fully recovered.

Using cracked media is just begging for crap to smack you in the face.

Agreed with above - you need Disk 1 to play CD version...unlike other BF games.

Get daemon tools, and look for a mini image on the web. Get anit-blaxx if pb is detecting daemon tools.

wat i do most of the time now since i just got like a 240gb hardisk is that i create an ISO file out of the cd and use daemon tools..that way i dont have to keep putting in cds for every game

why would you make an image of a craked knackerd disc?
