Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
first off... to all the anti complainers stating such things as
I think you sound like either a small child or an old lady...... You guys should stop complaining, how old are you? 5? 6?......
get a friggin clue... your posting in a battlefield 2 community forum, after the release of a new patch. talks and debates are sure to happen on these forums. Their complaining about the game, is rivaled by your complaints about the content in these forums. grow up... this isnt Pee Wee Herman "i know you are but what am i" bulls**t... but i suppose your happy we've all got something to complain about now.
What the previous version of BF2 1.02 meant to me, was diversity, specifically in the unlocks. The unlocks basically gave us a reason to want to play a specific class more often then the other classes. untill the patch i had two unlocks, and spent nearly double the time playing those classes with the corresponding unlocks over any other. that diversity made it easier for me to find my role in my squad... as there were seldom another support guy, or if there were... well, now this round, perhaps i'll play a less used class... Diversity is never a bad thing.
Today, now that i got v1.03, as i play, i keep noticing the announcement 3 or 4 times per game that displays "player X has been promoted to XXXX" and on many occasion, the same player multiple times per round. Essentially meaning 2+ unlocks for that person. Gone are the days when i would say "wow, he out-gunned me with a Jackhammer" (a very rare gun to see used pre 1.03), and its my opinion that thats a bad thing. I liked that my account was different then many others in that my combination of two was different (or as different then any combination of two outa seven is possible) and that it took time get where i was.
Why ta hell would you spent 200 hours on a Fing Badge? Just for that, you deserve what you got. Its an FPS, its not about collectional and permanent achievment. Its about getting out there and kicking ass with your friends.
thats an opinion as*hat... and no one ever really needs to be mislead to a disapointment. unfortunatly thats a fact of life some people are going to have to get over. one could easily argue that this specific fps, pre 1.03, was about increasing ones overall skill with a class that suited their gameplay style. the badges, vet and expert, accuratly represented that skill, as its impossible to argue Time + Experience = Skill.
If you played 200 hours just SF just in order to get a digital image 150 x 150 pixels.....which doesnt even reward u with anything..... its sad really.
more so... its sad that your closeminded so, that you dont realize not everyone plays games for the same reasons (your reasons). some find aspects of a game appealing, that you or others would never consider.
For those whinging about us who winge about how easy it was... if you dont have the time to play you wont get the extra content/weapons or waht ever.
when was this any different then any other game? putting the time in to get though it is essential to beating/unlocking everything. perhaps the concept was never considered that pre 1.03 the game wasnt ment to be fully unlocked/beat. just my thought... but that seems to be where it was pre 1.03, and that suited me (and others im sure) just fine... again it ment diversity. (im not disagreeing with the quote... it was a good point)
Now that i have everything available to me im pretty much over the game entirely and most likely wont buy BF:SF now.
im not so sure id personally go that far... but i think others will. once the maps are old, all the unlocks are available, and theres nothing new how often does any gamer keep up with a game past that point. thank god for mods.
People who play just for rank are stupid. Theres no fun in that.
hot damn, your a moron. you seem to like to voice your opinions as fact.
I can't believe I'm reading all those complaints, rants, and whinerposts...
TBH I am very satisfied with the update so far.
Still some open issues to be fixed, but else I am not disapointed at all.
STOP complaining. If you don't like the game, throw it away, sell it or do whatever elso comes to your mind. GO play something else that gives you a good time and puts you in a good mood. Because from what I could see BF2 is not matching this criteria for some of you...
Sorta well said... atlest the second half... but you sorta miss the point of a community forum. their here to discuss/rant/complain/praise the game, including its rescent patch. if you "cant believe" your reading all these complaints... perhaps you just dont see eye to eye ... if you cant deal with that... and need to post some complainer complaint post... well knock yourself out... but you just sound stupid.
I found there is nothing more satisfying then being in a good squad. My clan normally has 3-6 people in a server and on 1 squad, we run strats and travel together. We follow orders and cover each other. The objective is to win the round not to get ubber points. I love seeing our squad as the top squad at the end of a round.
These are the things you play for. Its all about the team not yourself
as i agree... there are counters to your argument. 1 the game isnt totally about squads... otherwise there wouldnt be an option to join one, and there wouldnt be a lone wolf stat. 2 not everyone is in a guild... like fraternity's(sp?) or serorities (sp?) its not everyones thing... often this results in a persons personal stats becoming important.
All in all i think the patch fixed gamplay... it put a stop on alot of the whoring, and stat padding, and made squad play alot more competitive... however, it went from one extreme with the persistant rewards/badges/stats to another extreme. ingame diversity is nearly gone... ranks are basically meaningless... and the use of badges to show experience with a certain class and its corresponding guns are lessened.
I have played over 250 hours and just put on a big smile when I got 3 unlocks at once! It really made my day. The only unlock I have left is the G3 and that one can really wait. There are probably issues left that needs improvement but the game seemes smoother now. Maybe more people will get the G3 now and stop with the noob tube for a while!
I really think they are going to add more ranks, badges, ribbons, and unlocks.
They prolly will in the next expansion.. might even add new guns (anyone notice the greyed out arrows?) but if they make it to easy to get em what kind of gratification do you get outa it?
All of you glory hounds will still get your time in the spotlight
outa game.. sure if they make them difficult enough to get...
in game.... what spotlight?
I really don't see why people are whining about the new ranks. they are complaining that ranks don't mean **** now but they know that isn't true. Ok so before the patch, being a sergeant was already quite something. But now it isn't. But they seem to forget that a lot of new ranks are added. So everything just shifts a few ranks.
I heard the same whining from old people back in the time the euro was introduced in europe.

baby's...
how currency compares to your experience level in a video game.... i dont get. buuuuut anyway.......
according to this site http://ubar.bf2s.com/ranks.php
they only added one rank... so i fail to see what your getting at? are there more ranks that im not aware of??
before the patch becoming a seargant was 25000 xp/global score.
with 7 ranks ahead of you remaining.... Today 25000 xp/global score is a possible first seargant (after getting all the badges) with only 4 ranks ahead of you.
Yes... everything shifts, but the spread between ranks becomes huge at the 50000 mark, when today the next rank = 200000 (thats 150000 between levels) which is prolly where your going to find the majority of the players who are either more then casual gamers, or been playing casually for atleast another 6-12 months. if the majority of players (or lets say more dedicated players) end up in here... wheres the feeling of accomplishment we had in the 1.02 version? id much rather the 4 ranks inbetween break us up a bit. atleast that way the dude whos under 75k is seperated from the dude whos over 15k (double)
I thought the game was ment to segregate players abilitys and play styles, now every tom **** and noob like harry can get all medals & badges without even trying.
Ah, but see, it doesn't do that. It doesn't take skill or ability to get 250h of playtime with a certain class... all the badges and medals above the basics were based on time played. And that amount was so ridiculously out of reach for 90% of the game's players, that it was a smart move by EA/Dice to change it.
EA will fix it eventually shut up and enjoy the game. If you people spent less time writing 2 page essays to argue with someone on the internet over something so pointless and ridiculous, maybe the game would be a lot more fun to you.
they could of and probably should have just left the ranks the way they were and instead gave more upgrades out so you could have them all by 25K. I think the unlocks is what most people wanted, not really the ranks. The rank only helps you be commander and most people dont care all that much about that, they rather be "in the field" playing

your looking at it wrong... like anything you wish to obtain... you have to make an attempt... the time spent reflects experience... experience reflects skill. if EA wanted they could make it more competitive by requireing you to rank 1st at the end of every round x number of times with a certain class... (as they do list it... i dont know if they record it tho) but im certain people would have complained its not fair for the casual gammers who have no choice but to compete with the hardcore gamers.
EA will fix it eventually shut up and enjoy the game. If you people spent less time writing 2 page essays to argue with someone on the internet over something so pointless and ridiculous, maybe the game would be a lot more fun to you.
shut the hell up ... if you got something to contribute ... like a 2 page essay, then give it your best shot, if your incapable of organizing your thoughts and discussing them, then theres no need for your litter, and meaningless spam.

agreed, but the have nots would still have continued to complain
This patch sucks!!!, now i have lag problems all the time that with 1.02 i never have. I dont' know what to do  . Even fresh instal solve the problem.
