Not a huge fan so far, though some features are neat.

They got rid of the ability to hit your talk key when moving forward to turn on autopilot so you could pick up that lit cigarette you dropped. This has been in since BF1942 v1.1, and I don't know of anyone that had a problem with it.
It used to be nice in 1.2 to be able to maximize your map, zoom your map, or pull up the squad screen while running. It sped the game up, which is a good thing, but you now have to stop any time you want to zoom the map so you can get a better fix on that red dot.

They overcompensated a bit on the scoring, but I don't really care about that much at all.

that REALLY annoyed me to no end when i found that out, as you say i was actually lighting a cigarette whilst thinking that when walking i could keep going for abit, nope (sorry for the edit i'm tired lol)

why in gods name did they take that out?

Ok the game was never supposed to be about rank this and rank that it was somethign new to the Battlefield series and in my opnion almost ruined the game as everyone was only out for themselves...

read closely half of the posts are all wha wha wha now im not uber 1337 cuz I spent every waking moment playing BF2 just to get some stupid made up rank that most people now have...blah blah blah...is it me or is this not a FPS and not some MMORPG????

and there is still plenty more ranks that are hard as hell to get...people are never going to be happy and you will never be able to please everyone....

Personally I think EA did a pretty good job with this patch...

I absolutely love what they did with the patch. They made the game accessible to casual gamers who can't devote their lives to BF2, or players who aren't able to be as good due to technology or lack of skill. They fixed some (unfortunately not all) of the key glitchy or broken issues. They took out any incentive to pointfarm, since nobody's going to be working towards those 250,000 point marks anymore.

To those who don't like the fact that everybody's jumping up in rank ... who cares? First off, you were probably just pointwhores in the first place. Second off, shouldn't the fact that you'll be consistently in the top 3 every round (I mean, unless you were one of those pointfarmers who has no skill) be enough? Third off, maybe this will encourage a more active clan scene, with leagues and tournaments being held to prove who is the best - not just going by who has farmed the most heal/revive/support points or whored the most out of the BH.

The supply icon on the map, the new map, the new sounds, and the player id when in vehicles are the only things i like. The names of spawn points, and the auto zoom when in different vehicles suck. Helicopters seem alot weaker. And i still accidently teamkilled while bumping into someone. Only difference is they go flying much further.

It seems they spent too much time on the new map and BFHQ new kit pictures. I mean really what is the ****ing point.

Ranks of all things are the worst. Why even bother anymore. When people who cant even hit a cows arse with a banjo end up sergeant with 3 unlocks. Yeah it may not have been fair before but thats what effort is. And whats the point of having all the unlocks when everyone else is going to have them too. They may as well be available for everyone at the start.


IMO I would much rather stay with 1.02 untill the expansion than have this patch.


A good suggestion is everyone to switch back and everyones unlocks reset and get to choose their current number of unlocks again. Because this to me is utter ********. I wont play this for at least a week now.

To all you ****ers and complainters out there. Get stuffed! Don't be so sore that it's easier to get ranks now. The ranking system is till there and you get new ranks that will refelct your global score. I don't understand all the whyning about this! I worked hard for my 13000 score too even if it's not especially high, but I won't whyne that ppl. that get 800 points get promoted to seargent or what. This patch is long awaited and overdue, so enjoy the freaking game and stop crying. If it's that bad for you stop play it, I mean you have gotten probl 200-300 hrs. of playing out of the 40$ so don't come back saying you paid for it and wan't entertainment for it.

Ahhhhhhh I can't stand people that complain and whyne all the time, IT's a freaking game you know!
