Re: CTD after 1.03
I just installed the 1.03 patch and tried to run battlefield 2 and the same thing happens to me. I tried restarting my computer and running the game through the auto run feature by ejecting the cd and then inserting it and no dice. AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: After uninstalling the game and reinstalling, then patching with 1.03, my game seems to be working fine. Perhaps the new patch conflicts with the older 1.02 patch? If this is the case, I would urge people to uninstall, reinstall, and then patch using the 1.03 patch from EA's site (first patch I downloaded was from Filefront and it didn't work [although I didn't try the reinstall before I patched with it so it may work]).Comment

Re: CTD after 1.03
im getting the same thing, except mine dosnt even make it to the login menu, it just starts up the loading splash .. screen goes black, then back to desktop.
AMD 64 4000+
1 gig 3200 DDR
GeForce 7800 GT OC w/ 78.05 Drivers
ASUS A8N-SLI Mobo
EDIT::: POSSIBLE SOLUTION - IT WORKED FOR ME
Delete your profile folders (in my documents) and update punkbuster, it now loads for me just fine :)!!Comment

Re: CTD after 1.03
Having the same problem. CTD directly after the logo splash. I am running Windows XP with all the latest drivers for everything from my graphics card to my chipset.
Also tried on my other OS, Windows XP 64, which has older drivers. Same problem, straight CTD after the logo.
Tried reinstalling, letting the game create a new profile folder and more, nothing helps so far.
UPDATE
After reading the above, I tried updating my punkbuster via their webpage, and I also renamed my profile folder thus letting the game create a new one. Unfortunately it is still the same for me. Instant CTD after the logo.Comment

Re: CTD after 1.03
It said patching failed, like 1.02. so I did what I did back then: Take the actual files from the TEMP directory and run them from the root BF2 directory. Worked fine in 1.02. Doesnt seem to work here. From what i can tell, and the way my monitor twitches, its something to do with graphics, or refresh rates.Comment
