not true.

i have around 3000 more points than the thread starter and yet, i'm "only" a first sergeant. and yes, i have ALL the basic badges and some expert and veteran as well.

i wonder how this whole ranking thing really works...

I believe it has been reported that 1st LT is 200,000 or so points.

So just skip right over 1st Lieutenant and go straight to Captain? Do you have something against 1st Lieutenants? :p

I'd like to see a choice for which branch's altered rank insignias you'd like.

Or maybe they could assign you to a branch based on where you play the most.

Air - Air Force
Water - Navy
Ground in vehicles - Army
Ground on foot - Marines

Of course, not many people probably spend most of their time in the water, unless they're an LHD whore (do those even exist?). I suppose time spent in the Seahawk should count towards Navy time since it is a naval aircraft.

Ya I have a feeling that the ranks will go all the way to a general with 4 stars as the insignia. Even with the new ranking system. It should take me ... hmmm... oooo.. 2 years to get there

Upon examining the stats, it doesn't differentiate between Assault and Transport helos. Bamas. Neither does it give stats for time in boats or on the Essex. Maybe time as commander should count towards Navy, since they usually sit back at a distance and lob artillery shells and send out UAVs. Sounds "Navy" to me.

assuming u still play bf2 by then, i mean they might change the ranking system again for special forces, and in like a year some other kool games will come out

THey need to include more ranks, Colanel should be how many points the old sergeant major was. Include:
1st leutenent
Captain
Leutenent Colanel
Colanel


That would be awesome.
