20 bucks says trojan_source is one of those moron chopper pilots who belive their rockets are greater than all, and automatically fly 3 feet off the ground, and strafe anything they see with their ****ty rockets, causing the view of the tv guides to become useless and the gun to have a poor range\kill zone.

^^^^exactly many a time i have been in a chopper as copilot only to have some prat pilot who cant line me up for any kind of shot at all...a pilot who seems to ignore the mobile aa locking ono us and any other kind of target that he should be prioritising

Why wouldnt I? I dont cap flags with the chopper, I go for the other chopper and armor. All I do is setup shots for my gunner. I come in at a slow pace, very steady. The need to incorporate a "Fire" say key like they did in 1942/DC.

I'd like to hear from some of your gunners -- not you-- about how good you are as a pilot.

I'd like to get an unbiased judgment.

every time I fly gunner, teh pilot flys so low that I can't use the TV missiles without takin' the helo out ! or he never gives me a good shot wit the cannon.

Exactly, and when I tell them otherwise, they say "if you don't like it don't gun". To be blunt, I'm one of the better gunners in BF2. I know if a pilot is good. A good pilot listens to their gunner. I miss Strega, I need to gun with him.

Yes, well it is a team game and because it is relatively new you do get alot off newbie type people that still dont know how to do that stuff, of course i know how to fly a chopper (both types) because ive played the other Battlefields. With the TV Guided missiles its a 2 person job, For starters the PILOT! has to point the nose of the Apache in the direction the tank or vehicle is, second the co-pilot then has to right click fire and u can move the missile around by clicking on the screen in the general direction you would like to missile to fly in. I personally consider myself a reasonable co-pilot with the TV's and yeah my aim too is to shoot a plane out of the sky in air hahaha, that would be the best feeling, already shot a few blackhawk's, Seahawk's watevers out of the sky and that was an enjoyable experience especially when it was full.

As a matter of fact there is a little square in the Heli HUD that shows the gunners view.

You're slightly correct, but still wrong. The gunner's view is pretty much where the pilots crosshair is.. That little box is where the tv cam initially fires out of.
If you're right next to a tank, and aiming directly on the tank, you'll hit below/behind him.

And for most of you nubs who say give me a shot and hold it there... alot of pilots don't point you there at all, I'm aware, but you also can't just sit all day and take your time firing the shot. It's very easy to go ahead and fire, and then readjust your shot on the enemy helo/tank.

Slightly Correct? Pffffft! Good pilots will use that BOX to help the gunner. Of course they realize that is should be higher above the target (leading) to be helpful. If they dont .. then they shouldn't whine about nothing. Most pilots don't slow down enough to use to TV's properly, especially when on strafing runs. Put up a UAV in the area. Ohhh Yea...but otherwise, Just gun it!

There was a carefully laid out thread with screenies showing that if the pilot is on target the gunner will be to low. A slightly nose up position allows the gunner to "get on". The Gunner view is useless other than to show where the cannon is pointed.

Perhaps the orginal poster should try to be a gunner with a pilot who does not realize the problems he is causing.

I have the impression the original poster is convinced any problems are 100% the gunner's fault, because he as pilot is flawless. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
