I find that some gunners either know about the TV Missle or the chain gun. They rarely know they can shoot both.

I read somewhere about the pilot being able to use the TV missiles and not just the rockets!? Has anyone else seen this done or know how?

Some lame pilots will take a chopper out solo and then switch seats in flight to use the TV missile.

              VERY cheap.

The chopper stays airborne...it spins around, but stays airborne.

I see, thats a bit below the belt, i dont rekon its all that easy tho, if you have to jump out then quickly in again you'd fall to the ground most of the time!?>! And you wont get a good shot if your spining- let alone getting back to the pilot seat.

Which reminds me - i've seen people using the machine guns on top of the jeeps. How do you switch from driving on your own to using the machine gun? is it the same a switching seats in the helo?

it is frustrating as hell as I give the gunner a good shot and he dosen't take it or worse yet bails out! Team work is really need in the helo's.

ea should have like a voip system that ppl near u can be heard by u like in real life, and every1 in the vehicle can hear u w/ voip

yeah agreed, in-vehcile voip should be implemented for all vehicles...one of the reasons I prefer to fly for a clanmate in TS.

I'd rather fly around and get only assists..the missles arent very good, inaccurate, and nothing is as powerful as a good TV gunner. Usually I'll find him a target, hover, and see what he does. If he stays on the machine gun I'll know what kind of flight I'm in for...if he takes it out with the TV I start drooling and looking at the map for more targets :)

Re: If you are the gunner in the attack choppers...

I'm not a pilot and only jump in as a gunner occassionally. I know how to use the TV missles pretty well, but I would say 75% of the time I can't get the shot it because of the pilot and 10% of the time I was to late to get the shot off or was waiting for a reload.
Give me a few seconds to get a good sight on the target and fire and I can do a pretty damn good job of hitting the target. Yes a few seconds, that includes switching over to the TV missle, getting the crosshair close to or on the target and firing.

If I am on TS with a clanmate...then we work great in attack helo's, constantly talking back and forth.
Sometimes use VOIP with members in the squad to coordinate attacks when possible.
Yet 2 ppl not in the same squad, it's pretty much a luck of the draw getting a pilot and gunner that can work together and use the TV missles successfully.

So done flame the Gunners, check yourself first.

All that indicates is when the gunner is not in TV mode - which way he is looking. That way when you hear him lighting something up with the chain gun - you can help him out by turning that direction, or keeping that target in his view longer.

Sorry for the multiple posts - just replying as I read through this thread.

Quicksilver - you can switch seats without having to get out of the vehicle. F1 F2 F3 F4 F5 F6 are all seats in vehicles. The type of vehicle depends on how many seats there are. The attack chopper only has 2 F1 and F2. F1 is always the driver or pilot seat (default seat you get into no matter what side of a vehicle you enter from - unlike 1942).

Re: If you are the gunner in the attack choppers...

If you see something in TV mode - you can kill it - no matter how steady the pilot is - NO MATTER HOW THEY FLY. You just need the skill to click on the target as soon as you see it - then make subtle corrections if you did not get a direct click.

If you put anything in my tv view - I can hit it - even if you are flying in circles trying to avoid AA. You just have to get used to how the missle flies.

It takes a second or so for the missle to fly straight - but it WILL hit whatever you clicked on. When you click - you paint the target with a laser - the missle will go to that spot no matter what. The only thing that will make it not go there is if something gets in the way (like another vehicle), or you clicked on something else trying to get it to fly straight.

I am not the end all be all gunner or pilot - but if you put a target in my view, even for just a second - I will kill it 9/10 times.

The TV missle is the deadliest weapon in the game IMHO. You can hit targets that cannot see you (fire from half way across the map), you can take out targets air to air, or air to ground, and best of all - one shot - one kill, even on the heaviest of armor. You can even take out commander assets in just a couple shots.

Most of you that have posted have obviously not played enough to know what is possible with the tv missle, let alone know how to use it effectively.

Here is the thread that someone had mentioned earlier - it is my original post with screen shots of what the Pilot sees, vs what the Gunner sees.
