Re: If you are the gunner in the attack choppers...

My chopper piloting skills are just fine. Ive practiced countless hours, keeping a steady shot for the competent gunners. In the pilots view, the box under your crosshair is not the gunners view. The pilots crosshair is the gunners box.

Join our server and Ill show how a real attack chopper should be flown.

One assumption does not make a certainty. Should I say that again, in a slow mono-toned voice for you?

why do you bother trying to argue w/ me? everything i needed to say and everything needed to back it up was contained in my first post.

Re: If you are the gunner in the attack choppers...

it might be easy to right click, but its difficult to get a clean shot.

            1) the vehicle is going too fast
            2) the vehicle is forced to roll/turn/change pitch (the tv guided missles only go straight)
            3) sometimes the gunner is turned to the left/right trying to shooting enemies and is not seeing the same things the pilot is

it will take a while for the pilot and co-pilot (gunner) to get accustomed to each others styles
it will LONGER for the gunner(s) to get accustomed to the pilot's flying style

if you were so concerned, why didn't you mention it to them in the in-game chat of voip?

why don't you just play on your server then? that way you can always fly a chopper the way it should be flown.

Then why does the box below the crosshair say Gunner view?

When I gun on a map other than Sharqi, I spend most of my time in the TV view looking for targets. Then when the pilot calls out infantry I'll switch back to guns, recalibrate, and start mowing them down.

It shows in what direction the gunner is aiming with the cannon.

I'd say you're guilty of exactly the same thing. You assume that gunners are not using the missiles because of some failing they have, instead of trying to find out why it happens. Who knows? Maybe you're not giving them good setups?

Re: If you are the gunner in the attack choppers...

Recently I've been flying the chopper with my mate in the gunner's seat. I have been relying on his TV missiles so much, I have forgotten how to use the rockets :hmm:

But one thing I have realised, is that using the TV missles requires as much input from the pilot as from the co-pilot. You need to know how to line up the chopper to give the gunner a good shot. Do you know where the square in the gunners view corresponds to on the pilot HUD? It's about half way between the "Gunner view" indicator and the centre crosshair.

Anyway, the point is that if your co-pilot isn't using TV missiles, check your own flying first. A good way to tell is if you line up on a tank, and the gunner spams the machine gun at it, you know he doesn't know about TV guided. But if he doesn't fire the machine guns, then he's probably in TV mode, which means if he don't fire a TV guided missile, you ain't lining him up properly.

I've taken down a jet in flight (not taking off) once. Luckiest ass shot i'll ever make. The map was Dalian Plant. I saw the back JSF take off the runway. I fired just as he took off, and followed him with it almost as far as it will go, all the way back to the 2 cooling towers in the middle and nailed him in the ass.

I'll never do that again, that's for sure. Was ****ing hilarious though. The guy was saying, you hacker!!! HAHAHAHHA, another satisfied customer.

Hi guys,I'm sure no "top gun" pilot or gunner, but IMHO the bigger problem, like mentioned before,is the miss(or lack of)comunication between the pilot and the gunner. Only happen to me very few times, but sometime I find pilots that USE THE VOIP to coordinate the attacs with the gunner. When that happened,we where wery deadly and rack up good scores. Many pilots do NOT consider TEAM WORK,and pretend from the gunner to take the "leftover" they could not rocket-shoot 4 any reason. And calling them noobs if they can complay(may be because they fly like an eagle, instead of flyng like a hammingbird(spell?)

                            PS:sorry 4 my english...not my 1st language.

Wrong. The TV "guided" missle goes wherever you click.

The only place I play is our sever but we have 50 slots, other ppl are allowed to join and use the choppers.

Why wouldnt I? I dont cap flags with the chopper, I go for the other chopper and armor. All I do is setup shots for my gunner. I come in at a slow pace, very steady. The need to incorporate a "Fire" say key like they did in 1942/DC.
