How many of you play just for fun? I am alomost to Sgt (23600) and only avg 107 pts per hour. I do not point whore or stat pad, I just go out to have fun. Some of you players have just outragous points and I just want to know if you really enjoy the game or are just tring to be high points whores.

I read these forums for the real laughs. I play BF2 because of my masochistic nature.

Im 7600-ish and I'd like to say I play for fun, but I tend to take it pretty seriously. I'm a Karkand whore (All hail Moders 24/7!) cuz all the other maps are just no fun to be infantry (save sharqi, but there isnt a sharqi 24/7 server and I hate having to load every 2 rounds) on both teams. You can have a look in my profile, I dont fly at all or armor whore (anymore).

Dude, there's a 24/7 Sharqi and more than a few 24/7 Karkland and Sharqis.
Anyhow, I made Sgt and thought I would play a little more relaxed but I can't. I guess I'm just an aggressive player. Nothing like the thrill of hunting people down online and killing them.

hmm u really need an in-between option for the 1st and 2nd option. I try my best to get good scores and own ppl but if it wasn't fun for me, I wouldn't do it.

I mostly play for fun, sometimes a play to win which isn't always fun.

I play for fun, care nothing for stats. I used to play Mechwarrior in leagues, while some of the games were intensely fun it was usually more of a chore with mandatory practices and worries about league standing etc.

This persistant scoring really brings out the worst in people. I would play unranked servers but I belong to an online group, some of which have been friends for 6+ years and every one of them are concerned about their stats. They look at this game more like a RPG then a FPS.

Maybe when more user made maps come out I can talk them into playing some of those.

I try to, but with all the ritalin-starved hyper-active punk kids and their stat whoring, its impossible. My freinds and I would get our own server and password lock it but then it can't be ranked.

I think most of the serious tactical gamers have written BF2 off at this point. Most of us are just waiting for Ghost Recon 3 and/or RB6 Lockdown. There are just way to many balance issues, too many ways to exploit and stat whore. EA really dropped the ball bad, because the engine rocks. My last thread of hope is the realease of Quake 4. Hopefully all these ADD cases will go play that game. (you know, they move from game to game like a locust plague destroying everything in their wake)

Even though I play on ranked servers and encounter pretty pathetic stuff sometimes I am still having fun, if I didnt I wouldnt be playing.
I try to help my team, if my team wins and I get a good score in a round thats great and if my team wins but I have only 10 pts that is great too.
