Re: As Good as this game looks......

Alrite, If you can run the demo, does that mean u should be able to run the game? MY little brother in Florida has a Dell with 256 RAM, a GE force 5500 with 256 RAM in a PCI slot and he says the he ran the Demo fine. This has got me baffled, any ideas?

The AGP version of the RV280 (9250) will run the game if the AGP bus width is set to 4x instead of 8x. The PCI version will not run because of the huge limitations on the memory bandwidth of the PCI bus.

The Fx5500 will run it, although slowly.

If you plan on playing any future games including this one you might wanna go ahead and upgrade to PCI EXpress and get ATLEASTE 1 Gig of low latency memory.

You shouldnt expect any kind of good performance if your not willing to spend a little money. Quality = $$

Does your motherboard not have an AGP slot?

Before spending $100+ dollars at least have the decency to do some research before you buy it. No the PCI version of the 9250 will not work with BF2. My friend had that card and had to buy a 6600GT for this game. Just return it back to the shop you brought it from and buy something else...like a 6600GT if you're on a budget. I highly recommend a 6800 or higher though, especially if you're gonna buy any future games. A 6800 256MB (non ultra or gt) version should be very cheap right now..look at newegg.com and see for yourself.

Is there any1 out there with a radeon 9250 and 512 or 1G RAm that runs this game?

the game freakin says 8500 radeon or higher, is 9250 not a higher numerical than 8500? Am I going GD dyslexic, thanks EA for the $130 I just spent for jack :)

I make in thru the intro, it plays the video of the game like a dream, then when it gets to menu screen it freezes, the monitor tries to adjust and it CTD. Makes no sense, if it can run that video of the game WTF is the deal?

BTW, I have 512 MB RAM, and the 9250. These are the only borderline issues I have everything else is way above minimal. I already tried the VM thing and other stuff, NAda. Any advice is great, I'm guessing I gotta get a new Vid CArd, right? Thanks ALL
The 8500 AGP slot will work, however the chip that the PCI 9250 uses is not supported. This is not EA's fault, it is ATI's card design that prevents you from playing.

BTW, Zeratul, those cards u were naming off were PCI-express. And if there is PCI versions, I'd love to know where, Cause NewEgg and every1 else I checked doesn't have those models compliant with PCI
