hum...have you saw the people nationnalities playing this game? not only USA im sure, as myself and many others...but some other nationnality cant speak english as well so they just dont post in there.

whether the server is hosted in america or even if some of the players arent american what does it matter? dont you believe in freedom of speech?

Perhaps if they fully informed the players. We could categorize them accordingly;

A) We have no language filters so have at it.

B) We apply a logical amount of language filtering and any reasonable person should know what those words are. We also post a warning when some one says something objectionable and then kick them after repeated offenses.

C) We have a whole gang of words and abreviations that we take issue with and be forewarned that typing a word [even if accidentally; like good luck becomes good suck] will create an auto-kick without warning laying your minutes or hours of time invested in the game to waste. We actually get off by making you guess what's acceptable and what's not.

I should have mentioned it was @ 1AM in the morning after playing Kubra on an 8V8 with a 64 player map, which as we all know is a pretty long game when you get to the end of it.

I had played for almost an hour on this one game before my evil deed.

These people are so amazing! Even all that has been explained about cussing & name calling & trouble making, they still can't grasp the big picture. I mean .. Come On! You take the time out of playing the game, to type foul words or demean other people. TEEN RATING >>> AAARRRRRrrrrGGgggHhHhh! Do you realize if there was a button like MSN, AOL, YAHOO and others have to report your cussing & racist or offensive crap, ALL you immature folks could have your (Or in alot of cases, your Parents) Accounts cancelled. It's called TOS (Terms of Service). All ISP companies have it. Try reading it sometime, then come back & try to defend being kicked or muted or banned from ANY online function. You should maybe try using sarcasm instead of cussing. You might even get a laugh out of it!

It's almost hilarious. These language filters and the silly abuses of power. No thought put into any of it. No warning, just a kick out the door? That's an abuse of power, IMO.

I have seen servers that put up a warning for what they consider abusive language. Even though I think language filters are silly, I recognize the right of the admins to implement filters, as long as they do it in a reasonable manner. Giving someone a warning is fair. No warning is just an overreaction to something quite natural. I would love to see some of these admins in the heat of battle. What do they say? "Oh darn you billybuck for teamkilling me just as I was about to blow up that tank. That's OK, buddy. I forgive you. Hugs!"

The point being, it's a crazy game and it brings out a lot of emotion in people. I have had my roommate lol at me for getting too worked up during gameplay. There's a lot that can get you worked up. Intentional tk'ers; idiot pilots who use choppers or planes to get them to a point where they then bail out on you without warning; teammates driving right passed you as you yell out "GIVE ME A RIDE"; the list goes on an on.

And for those that think two meatheads yelling at each other makes for a bad game experience. LOL Yeah, no one notices or cares because we're in the middle of battle!!!!!!!!

we kick on n00b because its insulting to new players and wtf cos of what it stands for. We have admins who kick anyone who tries to insult another player because we do not want arguments on our server.

You have to understand that the reason we kick for these words isnt because of the words themselves, its because they are normally said in anger or to start an arguement. The rules are to make sure people have fun playing.

you have to remember that you are a guest on these servers. someone somewhere is paying for them and it certainly isnt you so unfortunately, if they set rules, you either follow them or leave.

oh, and about the whole freedom of speech thing... you might wanna think about that concept...i mean, you havent "really" got freedom of speech. you will always have to hold your tongue depending on your surroundings.

you aint gonna walk into a police station and swear or shout abuse at the cops and expect nothing to happen.
you aint gonna shout "i have a bomb!" or "allaaaaahhh" at an airport now are you?
you aint gonna walk up to a gang of black guys and ask them to join you at your next ku klux klan meeting...

I understand the idea that you should be able to if you want to.. but im afraid in the real world there are consequences to your actions and in private bf2 servers, you get kicked.

unless its stat padding which does affect everyones global position in the ranks, then yeah its right for the owners of a server to do whatever they feel like doing.

Its great, the people who go on about freedom of speech and freedom of opinions are the ones trying to supress the server owners when all they are doing is exercising their rights to do what they want on a server.

Your right, there should be ample warning. Our server warns on the loading server message, 5 min timed announcements in game and on the website. Weve done everything short of emailing every person on the planet!

how about "billybuck can you be more careful in future [optional]please[/optional]" Obviously you have the option of punishing. if the guy is a complete moron whos teamkilling everything in site, he will soon be kicked. If not, you can be sure it was an accident.

I do understand what your saying about 2 guys arguing but we simply dont want it. Surely, we have a right to OUR opinion on OUR server. there are 10 admins currently on our server who all paid 10% for the server and we agree we dont want to see it. It would be nice if you could PM each other in this game so if you really wanted to vent your anger, you could privately.
