After you fire your missiles, get the hell out of the stinger so you don't have a targetting box on you. Wait until the jet flies over again and hop back in, turn and fire. Hopefully you'll hit him in the ass as he flys back for ammo.

One thing, dont just sit in the turret when there is no way you will hit something. when pilots see you in bomb view, you appear as a square indicating a vehicle, which the bomber gunner can also lock a missile onto you.

What do you mean "bomb view"? Is there a key to press to get this view? Also, how does a gunner lock a missile on to a target? Thanks

Many good tips here.
I have indirectly shot down many jets with the stingers because the pilots change the view to see the missiles and then they crash into obstacles. Pity I dont get the kill but at least it keeps them from bombing my team-mates. So even if they are difficult to hit keep putting the lock on because it makes them do mistakes.
Allways taunt them whenever they crash or you shoot them down or kill them on the airstrip. Angry pilots don't fly very well and you get their attention away from your team-mates.
To realy make them into a frenzy and make them fight eachother, try to camp around the hangars and take out the first pilot in line when the next pilot arrives. The one you killed will spawn back and try to get his place in the line back. You can kill a lot of pilotes this way because they will hardly ever try to find you since they are to afraid to miss the plane when it respawns.

Don't directly aim at the target, the lock-on will lock any where inside the aimming screen, lead the target or aim a little up if they are flying towards you or away, I took out loads of people being PLA on Dalian Plant on north harbour AA gun, mind you they must of been quite noobish as the blackhawks kept flying straight towards me.

Yes, the new patch is supposed to "de-nerf" the AA missiles.

UncleFriendly answers: We've actually tweaked the AA missile behavior in the upcoming patch. The Stingers/IGLA and various AA vehicles should be more effective.

When the aircraft is flying away from you is the best time to let 'er rip. I have very little luck shooting at a target moving sideways across my field of view. Wait for the flairs before you shoot as well.

Sideways is a no-no.

Flying away may not work with good pilot, cause will turn back camera on and when missiles aproach, he'll turn away.

Best imho when pilot is approaching. Close enough even flares won't help him. When plane is close enough, he'll drop flares, but missiles will hit plane anyway.

With enemy choppers, maintain a lock. They will always dump flares, keep your aim sturdy. Once the flares are cleared you have about 8 seconds to fire, and by now they have spotted you. Time your shots well and they are easy kills.

With choppers, i find it's best to aim above the heli when they drop flares as your lock tends to follow the flares. By aiming high above the heli you will lock on to the heli again much faster since it doesn't track the flares.
