you can get laptops but they are way more expensive and can't be upgraded, I know alienware has gaming laptops but god don't get me started on how bad their reputation and service is

I think maybe Dell, most people think they are bad for gaming but I had a dell laptop a couple of years ago which I used for Call Of Duty and it ran smooth, I mean if you are prepared to spend >$3000 then you can get something good enough to run all of todays recent games.

          I'm running a Dell Inspiron 9200: P-M 2.0GHz, 1.5GB PC2700 RAM, Radeon 9700 video, 100GB 5400rpm HDD.
Runs pretty good at 1600x1200 with low settings. Biggest bottleneck is surely the video; I'd definitely look for something with a GeForce Go6800 now. 7200rpm disk would also give some improvement in load times based on my test using an external USB 2.0 desktop drive.

whatever you get make sure it's not shared memory that will be the death of you most games don't support those chipsets and the video memory is robbed from your system ram so if it says you have 1gb of ram and a 256mb shared video memory you acuually only have 768 mb of system ram when your card is using the maximum amount of video memory

I have an HP laptop and while the specs aren't all that great the customer service is quite good i had a friend who had his entire laptop refurbished with upgraded hardware for free after the warranty had run out because he had a problem with his screen all he paid for was shipping

I will let you know when I get my Dell Inspiron 9300 on Oct 5th. Has 2.2 Ghz Intel Pentium M, 1 gig of ram, Go 6800 VC, and I will be installing a SB audigy 2 card in it. Can't wait.
