They could have been part of the Bright Star Exercise. It's a joint exercise done every year around this time.

They are Marine Helicopters. The Army doesnt have the CH53, nor any variant of the Cobra any more.





We have American Forces in Egypt (The aircraft that you photo'd are US) Noted by the subdued star/circle on your cobra pics)

those are ch-46s which are use by the marine core picture

and the m(c)h-47 is used by the army picture

OK, stupid of me, but on this picture you can clearly see it are marines, just didn't looked at it.



don't know wich shopper this was actualy.

Those groep of choppers where flying in formation, cumming from the desert, one HUEY was hoovering at one place just turning around to folow the group in it's sight, some time later they where flying in groeps of three.
