How to get explosives badge - my easy method
Well after trying and trying to get the explosives badge this is how I finally got it.
Let me preface this by saying I consider myself a pretty good spec ops player, and adept at sneaking up on tanks for the ol' plastic party.
However, i could never get the explosives badge this way. So here's the easiest way, I got it the first time I tried this method.
Join a server playing Strike at Karkland, join MEC. When the map starts first thing, plant all your c4 around the front line flag -- hotel i believe it's called. Be sure to spread them around real nice and don't make it too obvious. Now just cut and run north and find a place to hide. I like to go on to the building's roof that you get to by going inside it first. From there you get a nice view of the north east street that the US will be coming from. Don't draw attention get a kill if you can, but you don't want to get killed. If you do it can be a major pain getting the C4 planted again and hidden. Now wait for the flag to go grey, either just before or just after it is turned detonate your c4. On a 32 player server you should get at least 4 kills maybe 7 or 8 depending on how organized the US team is. On a 64 player server, 10 kills here is not unheard of.
Now for the rest of the map simply pay attention to your troop levels and UAV , you should be able to predict when a flag will fall. The next flag that always falls is the one just north of the hotel with the big building and rocks down on the ground. So head over there and plant them all round, mostly near the rocks though that's where every one lays. Now, you might think you'll be clever and climb the ladder to the roof just above the flag to wait. Well bad idea, the US commander will always call an arty strike on this spawn next. You really really want to c4 this spawn when it falls because it always takes many US to cap it. The tricky part is finding a good place to hide. Now, this can be very hard because often time the US already has the next north flag -- the marketplace i believe it's called. So just hide anywhere you can and don't worry about shooting people for this one round. If you can get a c4 just before this flag turns you should have your badge right away. However it's very difficult to find a good safe place to hide form this spawn for some reason.
Next best place to c4 is not way up in the north west corner, it is at the river bridge, so head there and place c4 under the train and by the fence and flag, go climb up in one fo the lookout towers on the bridge and wait.
You can use this general strategy for every flag but these 3 are the best to use just because it seems multiple people always are needed for a cap. The marketplace and northwest corner outpost are usually capped by tanks/apc. We want the infantry heavy cap places.
