many times when you do try to go to an injured friendly you end up getting killed on the way there and if you do happen to get there, they are already dead and when you revive, both of you die from an arty, tank, chopper or ace shooter. if someone is within the distance of a sprint before the meter turns red ill try to help em. but if i gotta climb mountains or swim rivers then your on your own bud.

it highlights them on the map? Now that's something i didn't know. I'll have to check it and see when i think of it.

          Re: I need a Medic/Ammo!

I'm in the medical field in real life so my instincts are to help people hollering for a medic. Often they are just too far away or all hell is breaking loose and I read here all the time it's best not to go into firefights too often because reviving in that situation is not good. So it's not always that I don't care, I'm just trying to figure out the best thing for the team. Plus I'm old and have a hard time absorbing all of the info on the screen so I just get plain confused at times.

            Re: I need a Medic/Ammo!

Certainly can't speak for everyone, but when I pick the medic it is usually because the squad I join doesn't have one.

I like gaining points, earning medals, and unlocking weapons like most folks. HOWEVER, folks like me who play medic actually enjoy helping fellow gamers. Strange I know. My decision to heal or not to heal isn't based on the point system.

When I first started playing I ran all over the map trying to help. I only ended dead real quick. I did that aweful revive soldier only for both of us to be killed immediately after. I hate hearing the automatic "Medic!" when people die. The urge to run over and help is still pretty intense.

A good medic stays with his squad towards the back of the group. In key spawn points I throw down a bunch of health packs, as well as drop some down for snipers and the like playing "lone wolf" spots.

When in the thick of battle I try now to pick my rescue attempts. My first concern is distance and safety of the rescue location. I will not subject myself to a sure death - that doesn't help my squad, my team or really the guy I would like to revive - being killed twice in a row isn't any fun.

Is it possible that sometimes the medic you want is too far away, or the area is too hot? Again, not speaking for every medic. Some might indeed not care regardless the circumstances. But why pick the medic when there are better kits for action? I believe most medics are trying their best, though we all make mistakes, especially when new or under a lot of fire. The aternative is having no medic.

Great post thread starter! I too didn't realize the map showed medic locations. So if you are still alive get out of danger and run back to the medic who should have some health packs waiting for you.

            TactS!

when im support/medic healing and resupplying is my top priority, kills do not matter when I rack up some serious points and help my team big time ^_^.

                  Re: I need a Medic/Ammo!

I play alot as medic. There are countless times I've seen my squad die, then made sure there were nomore hostiles and revived the squad. Thats when the medic is most effective I think. Its sometimes hard too decide wether you go in and revive or stay put because you dont see were the enemy is.

I hate it when i see a teammate running on low health. Then I run towards him and sometimes even throw a bag to let him know I can fix him up. But they don't pay attention and keep running! :|:

I play mainly support and when I hear requesting ammuntion I always go over and throw a bag down for them, even if it means driving across the map.

                      Re: I need a Medic/Ammo!

i think that if you are support it is worth it to run over to help someone(even far away) if they need ammo. Especially anti tank who use them alot. They are most likely hiding because they have no ammo so they are out of danger. You wont be in as much danger helping as a medic would.

Medic on the other hand is in the heat of battle if they have to revives someone and most likely have an enemy trying to spot you when you go over to help. YOu are more likely to die if you just blindly run around trying to heal. Youll both get killed.

                        Re: I need a Medic/Ammo!

When I play medic I usually set myself up as the squad leader and assume the role of 'combat medic'. Basically this means I will be rushing front line bases with my team making sure that the moment they get hit, they're back up at 100% hp. If playing USMC the standard assault rifle is awesome for sniping, I just use semi-auto with the blade sight (even in close range it feels like it has much less deviation and faster firing than using the 3-round burst). I only have problems playing MEC because the AK is just no good for aiming. Right now still debating between G36C and the L85A1 as next upgrade (first unlock was M95).

                          Re: I need a Medic/Ammo!

I have got most of my points as medic, but suicidal medics do NOTHING for the team. I knew about the show on minimap thing.

Note: The real medics (like me) who are always playing as a medic will always try to heal/revive you. But please remember that sometimes we have to kill the people around you first which may take 10 seconds... and if it took us 4 seconds to get there.....
Also, please do not call medic if you have just been ambushed, it just means you are helping the enemy get easy points.

And to add to that, don't moan when you are killed on the other side of the street from us by a tank that is pointing it's gun at you and we don't revive you.
