Switch from 60hz to 85 or 100hz, and tell me you can't see the difference.

              Tocus,

In your changes to my recommendations you may have neglected that they each have only 1GB of RAM. For that reason, Textures should remain on Medium.

Also, on the second correction, I think Geomety should always be on High regarlesss of system specs. This setting determines how far away moving and some static objects come into view. One wouldn't want to decrease their view of dynamic objects just as one wouldn't want to decrease the overall view distance of the map.

I agree that turning off the Dynamic Shadows and Lights is best. About 20 fps better on my rig in fact.

My bad - I forgot to mention that I run everything on low as I am a franerate slag - I'd rather it was smooth than pretty.

Gona bang the geometry up tho as I didnt realise that affected the draw distance of dynamic thingummys...

Re: Guys, what ssettings should i run on?

In the slightly off topic discussion of whether or not you can see the difference in 60mhz refresh rate compaired to higher: Yes, I can tell the difference. I can see lines and flicker in nearly every monitor I've seen that was set at 60mhz. I've mentioned it to some other people, but most of them can't see it. I can also see lines and flickers in some TVs that only a few others see, too.

On topic. I would recommend keeping Geometry on High (for reasons others have mentioned) with Texture filtering High as well. In my opinions, I would say keep dynamic shadows and lighting on, if only on low, because otherwise the game just looks a little cheesey. I've been saved by seeing shadows under fences more times than I can count, too. I may be tweaking these to get some extra FPS out of my game, as well.

would upgrading to 2 gigs of ram make much difference?? Also to my understanding the x2 3800 is good enough that it shouldn't be bottlenecking much if it all.

The CPU is more than capable. As for having 2GB of RAM, it should smooth out game-play but it won't increase fps.

No, your fps are consistant with your video card and memory subsystem.
