i hope that they fix this problem in the new patch, i was playing last night, my teamate was is in a tank and he had red letters, i shot a rocket and it said team veichle damage.

I seem to be seeing this more and more in the last few days,maybe it;'s just me or that I happen to be more aware of what I am aiming at.
But what makes this worse is that that person also has the voice of the enemy aswell!
I was playing Operation Clean Sweep and we were defending the Flag west of the MEC airfield and I kept hearing a UMSC voice shouting "Get First Aid Here!", since I was MEC I was instantly alert and went to find/kill the (what I thought was) a US player who had ventured into our spawn. I found him and nailed him with my DAO-12 only to be punished for a teamkill.

I've never seen this. I don't go by nametags though. I go by what they wear - light or dark depending which team I'm on. Or by the minimap icons if there's enough time.

It also sucks when you are at your teams cp and a teammate just starts to shoot you. Probably thinking that you are the enemy...:/

MMmmmm NovaLogic Joint Ops had a similar bug but one that could "not" be fixed as it was attributed to the user / player showing as opposite team but actually on the same team, with bad band width and packet loss on transfer of data up and down line.
The only fix for this is server admins to keep an eye on ping rates and players bringing it to server admins attention.
Don't blame the player though just tell him and ask him to move to a server that gives him better ping.
Me thinks, it's that Playnow option that's to blame again!

Just as mentioned - they show as enemy and sound like enemy but they are not.

Going by the attire does not get around trying to identify them.

I had it happen to me when server auto moved me. I moved back to other side and I was normal again...well as normal as I can be. :P

This bug seems to be getting worse. I had a game last night where 3 people had on my team had a red name. And it doesn't seem to be for everyone. I played on the WSS server last night with a bunch of friends. One of my buddies was showing red, and out of the 6 in our squad, only 4 saw him as red, one guy saw him as green so it seems to be per application not per server instance. (unless he was mistaken and was looking at the wrong guy).

But there were 2 other team mates also showing red during this same game. I've never had that many issues. I remember when first playing this game, this bug didn't rear it's head all to much, but it seems it's here on daily basis now and seems to be getting worse. Hopefully EA has a fix soon.

Had this happen to me last night. I nearly blew the guy away. I told him about it and no sooner did he read it than he started running around like mad jumping all over, and finally took to the hills to hide. Strange...

And if you think a teamate's name is red is bad, try this: A US troop parachuted into the temple cp in the Wetlands map dressed as a Chinese. He blew away a few other guys before I caught on and shot him. Sure enough, he dropped a US kit, and I got a legit kill.

Why do you guys say that this is going to be fixed? AFAIK, EA has not even acknowledged that the bug exists.

It takes many forms.. 7th player on your squad (he will actually be on the other team, but you can track him on the map), friendlies showing as red, you showing as red, etc.

I hope EA fixes it -- for me, it's a priority, but it gets so little attention.

This should absolutely be a priority. I dont know what EA would be thinking if they didnt' address this issue. I can live with all the other "enhancement" requests not being addressed as long as the application Works like it's supposed to!
