    Shadow & lightmap problem

Well after waiting all night for my map to render this is what it finished with

as u can see it has like tiger stripes over the buildings, now this is on every object even rocks!!!

DOes anyone know what the hell has gone on here?

The settings i used where: compile>lightmaps>generate

    - selected trace objects, terrain, selected

    - PRimary and Secondary

    - resolution final(as this was gonna be finished)

    - ignore asserts

I used Bf2 Mod light samples as well..

I have absolutley no clue as to why this has happened??? and also the buildings are dark with only light obvious at the bases of all buildings??

Does the lighting actually work in this editor??

    :x

This may be the problem you don't really need those.

You need them if you want things to cast shadows on objects though. Removing the light samples will get rid of this and thus get rid of the error but im sure theres a reason as to why its happening and could be fixed.

I've had the same problem. It took me forever to get the object lightmaps right because of this. I think the editor is bugged in some way. If you can't get those shadows off of your buildings you can always going into your maps directory C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\yourmap\Lightmaps\Objects and delete you lightmap files in there. BE SURE NOT TO DELETE THE LIGHMAPATLAS.TIA file in there because it likes to crash your game if it's missing. When you RE-generate object lightmaps the editor never seems to overwrite the old file, so I've always had to go into the folder and manually delete the files before I could generate my object lightmaps again.

You can try these settings if you want, they worked for me. I suggest just trying it on one SELECTED object to see if it works instead of waiting all day. Also under light settings I have hemimapbias set to 1, not sure what it does though. The GILightsBaseDir is set to my sun's position I'm not sure if thats right or not.
