I found that on Mashtuur a good number of people would switch to the U.S. team just to be part of the BH squad.

Not to mention that when you get a team that can't play worth a crap, it's virtually impossible to shoot down the chopper with only 1 IGLA or only one Vodnik.

It's gonna be a good thing to see this new patch.

I don't have any problem with BH whoring. However, I do think that the MEC/China chopper could be improved, because compared to the BH, its a joke.

here's what ALL bh whores should do:

1. install TWO copies of battlefield 2
2. on install #1 patch it to 1.03
3. on install #2 patch it to 1.02

problem solved!

i GUARANTEE you that there will still be quite a lot of servers that will run 1.02. just like there's about 50 servers according to ASE that is running patch 1.01 and even the vanilla version.

so when you and your buddies feel like bh whoring, fire up the bf2 install running 1.02 and your account will get all those whored points. and, if you get tired from bh whoring, simply fire up your other copy of bf2 and you can use the same account that you were using just a while ago to whore the bh!

2 copies of bf2, different patch versions, same bf2 account = best from both worlds (patches, actually).

Hmmm, good idea.

Yeah eh? Well I thought so too, but I noticed the Mec Chopper seems to handle a little better. There's a subtle difference between the too choppers, I can't seem to put it to words, but there are definately advantages for flying each.

I think people jus fly the BH because...it's cool looking.

I don't have any problem with BH whoring. However, I do think that the MEC/China chopper could be improved, because compared to the BH, its a joke.

One more thing...if they remove the ability to capture a flag with the BH...landing anyhere near a road will be extremely dangerous. So what do you do? Strengthen the BH or do you allow the BH to cap flags but make it slightly more vulnerable? Time will tell.

I used to hate BH's until i joined a good BH whoring squad, racked up some good point. But then thought this is bad, this is where peeps are getting points from.
Then one of my most memorable moments from BF2 was when i brought down 3 full BH's in one game. I was jumping for joy.
So i say keep em, if peeps wanna BH whore then let them... is some great points when you bring one down.

I think BH whoring is fine. A good black hawk can make a huge difference in a game, therefore, it should be well rewarded. Don't forget, despite all the points you may gain, you also are taking 6 people away from tanks, jets, etc.

One of the problems, however, is that a copter filled with 6 people each gets 1 point for a flag capture, while 1 person capping a flag gets only 2. Do the math.

You can BH whore by all means, just make the blackhawk go down with 2 AT Rockets, i've seen blackhawks take 5 AT rockets just to start smoking...

I swear! You people who defend BH whoring must be a bunch of 10 yr olds who have know idea what Strategy or teamwork is about. For one thing, How THE HELL can you cap a flag from the air. That is the MOST unrealistic thing I have ever heard of or seen. I know it's a game, but for Crap sakes!!!! Its not a Star Wars or UT game. The BH is not to fly from flag to flag capping them & flying off. Its not supposed to be used as a missile or battering Ram. The purpose of a BH is

1. To transport troops from Sea to Land.
2. To fly across the maps to drop off troops behind enemy lines.
3. To quickly get to parts of the maps fast, where other squads are getting annihilated by being outnumbered or flanked.
4. To lay down cover fire from high up to help out your advancing ground troops.
5. To drop troops in places that are otherwise inaccessible. (Buildings w/o ladders, Mountaintops, etc.)

An actual great pilot & BH squad would do these things, plus follow the UAV scans from higher up to take out the enemies.
Very rarely would you find a BH pilot that would look at a UAV scan & see that there are lots of troops converging on a small squad & Actually go over to help.

I read somewhere(will edit once I find it) that the New Patch is going to limit the amount of Repair the Engy can do from inside the BH. What a stupid idea, it's not like the engy gets many points as it is, now they have just ruined the class IMO. Thanks to all your "BH Whore" Threads, EA/Dice will nerf the Engy, way to go noobs.
