I can't believe nobody has posted this yet:

          Community Update – 9/30/05

Battlefield 2 1.03 Update Enters Final QA Pass
That's right, troops. Barring any last minute issues, the 1.03 update is only a few days from release now. We thought this occasion warranted a post covering the major features and fixes coming in 1.03, so settle back and enjoy.

          Wake Island 2007
That's right, the 1.03 update bundles the first official map release from EA and DICE. In this case the map is a modern-era update of one of the most popular maps from Battlefield 1942 -- Wake Island. The People's Liberation Army has invaded Wake to threaten American supply lines. In response the US Marine Corps has been dispatched to reclaim the island. Pick a side and fight to win!

The new Wake Island map comes to you free of charge thanks to Fileplanet’s new Battlefield 2 Channel. Visit it at Fileplanet’s new Battlefield 2 Channel

          New Features
Stats compare - view the extended stats details for any other player in your BFHQ simply by double-clicking on their name on the leader board or using the new search feature!
Server Favorites and History - find your favorite servers that much easier. No more searching for them through the main server list!
Nickname Prefix - Add and change your clan tag to your account name at will. No more creating alternate account names to cover the changes in your competitive lifestyle!
Supply Drop Icons - Supply drops now appear on the main map and within the 3D Map. Find that elusive supply drop much, much quicker!
Points for Destroying Command Objects - players now receive points for destroying the commander's toys. Special Forces players rejoice!
Server Reserved Slots - Server Operators can now set aside slots for their admins to join a full server at any time!
Vehicle Passengers - the names of players in a vehicle with you are now displayed when you enter or change seats.
Countermeasures - a reload bar has been added for vehicle countermeasures. You'll always know now when you can set off that next flare!
          Tweaks
Point Farming changes - DICE has implemented functionality that makes it significantly harder to point farm on Ranked Servers.
Mod Support - Mods now work properly with the Dedicated Server! Additionally, the game will automatically switch mods when joining a server that is running a mod you have installed but do not have activated.
Map tweaks - Spawn menu map and Commander maps now scale based on the size of the level being played (16, 32 or 64 players). Mini-map also scales automatically based on the vehicle type you are using (manual changes to zoom levels are remembered as well).
Commander scoring - No more TKs from Artillery!
Vehicle tweaks - No more accidental kills from bumping a friend with your tank (try to avoid hitting him at speed though) and no more struggling uphill in an APC. Also no more improper TK allocation from vehicle explosions.
Auto Team Balance tweaks - Commanders and Squad Leaders now immune to team switch.
Anti-Air Missiles - These are now much more effective against fast-movers.
          …and much, much more!

See everyone on the Battlefield soon!

People bitch and moan because it's a one shot kill and it's so easy to use and it has an area-of-effect.

Still, Assault is focused on anti-infantry. What'd you expact, a potato launcher?

I hate people that bitch and moan about that. On maps like Karkland, every other death of mine is by a nade launcher, and I honestly don't care any more than if it was from a pistol.

It's a valid tactic. Suck it up, and deal with it.

While most people are bagging the game for bugs and such (which can be good because it can lead to further improvements), I think overall someone needs to say well done.

I love this game, it is the single game I love playing, all others don't compare. I get annoyed at a lot of the things that people have complained about, eg tk punishing when it's not fair, but wouldn't you all agree it is a wicked game.

If you don't like it, you don't have to play it, well done EA.

Your missing the point. The game is great and that's why we even bother answering here. The problem is the way we have been lied to about the fixes of the game. Even worse that they don't miss a chance to showcase how cool their new BF2 SF will be and urging us to buy it. Shouldn't they be fixing the game and sticking to their word first? Do they really think we're going to go and buy another broken game?

I was just kicked from a server for a second accidental teamkill in 6 maps. What's worse is that the first one was because one of my teammates had a red name. The second one it was a complete accdent. On top of things i was doing the best from my team helping getting those flags and reviving teammates and I was having lots fun. All of the sudden, that last accidental tk and i'm here typing this message out of frustration. Do you think that's how the game was intended to be?

I love this game, but experiences like that make me not want to play it. You get it now?

People moan because it's the ONLY CLASS USED IN HIGH-LEVEL CLANMATCHES. It gets a bit boring when everyone is using the same class and just bunnyhopping with their nadelaunchers.

Well, unfortunately for y'all, it's also a fair part of the game.

This arguement really isn't going to go farther than you saying "omg nade launcher is gay" and me replying with "suck it up".

And that is why something needs to be done about bunny hopping.

The blackhawk was also a valid tactic, but we all know what is happening to it in the patch. Honesty, if you defend the nade launcher being used up close and with bunny hopping on Karkand, then you are the noob using it and should probably go play Unreal tournment or Halo. Everything in the game is suppose to be realistic in some way and then be balanced with the arcade kinda gameplay. The nade launcher and bunny hopping/proning should be like it is in America's Army. The grenade won't blow up until it reaches a certain point, and you can't fire when going prone or jumping. I mean it is kinda stupid that you can't fire when sprinting, but you can while jumping 5 feet in the air or going prone? It just totally messes up how the game looks and plays when you do that. The noob tubers are also a tk threat, especially in Karkand or other urban maps. And I don't see why you guys use it either since it isn't an effective killing machine. You get one shot, then you are dead, and that is why most of them has a 1:1 k/d ratio. Use your primary weapon, and you will get more points that way, but no one insist on believing me, even though I am a Staff Sergeant that got there solely by using my primary weapons.

Whenever they fix those 3 things, most of you will not be able to get your 1 easy kill and be forced to use a real weapon. The reason you use it anyway is because you are too lazy to learn to use an effective weapon and want 1 kill handed to you, even though you will die usually after that 1 kill. The nade launcher is for long range use, and being able to survive it is pretty rediculas up close. And when you have 60 people on Karkand running around, bunny hopping and using the grenade launcher, that is when it gets really rediculas.

A mild correction is in place. It's the only anti-infantry class used in high level clanplay. At least half our team are AT's
