Stop shooting emtpy vehicles!!!

I was really annoyed last night. I was on the Dragon Valley map running towards an abandoned jeep and some knob-jockey goes and blows it up with his AA tank.

Sigh. Why you should not blow up an abandoned vehicle:

1: Because people like me can make use of it instead of whoring off the team's vehicles.
2: Because blowing it up sends it back to the enemy spawn point so they can use it.
3: Because your just wasting ammo on an empty shell. It will blow up eventually anyway.
4: Because you don't want to be a retard.

Because people like blowing things up and seeing them explode...makes them feel better.

Unfortunately people don't see the big picture as you laid out...oh well...

If there is an empty enemy vehicle I will leave it but if im in a empty enemy base and I see one of our vehicles around and no one else ... I'll take it out, especially if it's already damaged, to get it to respawn.

If it's an enemy vehicle you definitely shouldn't blow it up - however if it's a vehicle from one of your bases you shold blow it, so it'll respawn and your teammates can utilize it.

If there's any teammates nearby, it goes without saying; don't blow it up.

2. If I'm capping a flag in a tank/apc/etc.. then everything in my immediate area is fair game -- it'll all get blown up.

The only time I blow up a vehicle like that is when I am trying to cap an enemy base or clear an area, and that vehicle poses a threat to me in my vehicle...like an APC or tank. The only reason I blow up the smaller vehicles is so that enemies that spawn before I cap cannot run away from me as fast. :P

If I am in an existing base with our own vehicles, I leave them alone, unless an enemy squad rolls in - then the above goes into effect unless there are teammates around to occupy those vehicles.

Oh hell sorry guys I think I didn't word it properly. Yeah if you're capping a flag by all means destroy the tanks and whatever nearby if none of your team are with you. The ones I'm talking about are the jeeps or whatever abandoned in the middle of an empty road with no-one around. Seeing a team-mate running toward it and just blowing it away....

If I drive into an enemybase with armor, and there are empty tanks/apc:s there, I usually fire one round at them. In that case if an enemy respawns in the base before I´ve captured it, and they run for the armor, I got the advantage. Simple tactics! But I never fire at cars, thats just stupid. :)

Agreed with this so much....If you take the Enemy Vehicle and repair it...that is ONE less vehicle they have to use against your team. I don't know how many times I am running towards a smoking vehicle with my wrench out only to see it shot and blown up in my face.
As for taking flags...I usually don't blow the vehicles up but shoot them till they are smoking. 2 good things about this tactic....if enemy is near they will usually try to use the vehicle....1 shot...boom they're dead. Take the flag and it can be used by friendlies.

Quick question:

You spot a friendly vehicle with half damage. So you blow it up to send it back home for a respawn. But it comes from base A which has been capped by the enemy, so doesn't it now spawn as an enemy vehicle, thus helping the bad guys?

Agreed...100%. I do this all the time.

If the enemy respawns and jumps in the tank or APC, I've already got 1 round into 'em without even trying.

I just shoot at them a little so if the enemy gets it it's easy for me to kill him.

Actually this does make sence. I saw a blackhawk land in an open field and 5 guys got out and started on foot. (don't ask me why.. it wasn't even smoking..lol) Anyways, I was in an APC and looked over at it and was prepared to shoot. I purposely chose not to shoot it, but rather guard it if you will. A few of the guys tried to come back for it and I promptly ended there little venture, and it took it several minutes for the BH to explode. In the mean time.. the enemy kept asking "Where the hell is our blackhawk?" It was rather funny.
