Another way that would help immensley would be a way to see how many times people died from which weapons. Heck, just taking away the deaths from artillery would boost most people's kill to death ratios, heh.
Yea... it's really hard to judge skill from just stats alone. I usually look at their weapon stats to see how them handle the weapons. Then their teamwork scores to try and see how much padding if any has been done. Vehicle stats I check out too. KDRs can be inflated if u really whore it up with tanks and planes. Finally I'll check out win/loss record. The ability to help your team win rounds judges skill to me. But after all that...I would still have to play with/against someone to truly judge.
I don't trust scores or KD ratios mainly because people have dishonest ways of padding their stats. Someone could spawn camp all game and get a great score but he did little to help his team win the game.
#3 Likes to "whore" bomber. Usually with his friend he destroyes every possible tank with his friend's missiles and bombs. Above average KD ratio as sometimes AA shoots him or he dives too low and crashes. Noob?
I'm just barely a lance corporal right now..... but I'm no noob. I have a corporal ranked account too, but I don't use it because a) I don't care about rank, b) it has a clan tag for a clan which I quit. When I had to play as a private I didn't suddenly start sucking, I still got first place on servers.
I guess there's different areas of skill to consider when you want to say if someone is actually good or not. But then again if someone gets a 5.0 frag rate with nothing but infantry, yet he has no teamwork or leadership skill, is he actually good, or would you say he's a noob? Skill is all in the eye of the beholder.
