There is noway to tell how good someone is.

Points and KDs don't tell the real truth. Ill give 4 samples.

#1 is a great CQC assaulter. He both uses nade laucher and rifle part and kills everyone. He doesnt really do any dives and die alot cause of this. Mostly by artillery that rained from the heavens or he faced a tank. He dies alot so he has horrible KD ratio. Noob?

#2 Likes to tank. Mostly plays engineer to repair his own tank and others. Great tanker, knows all weak spots on tanks and has really good reflexes. Has massive KD ratio as in tank hes save from artillery and other tanks. Noob?

#3 Likes to "whore" bomber. Usually with his friend he destroyes every possible tank with his friend's missiles and bombs. Above average KD ratio as sometimes AA shoots him or he dives too low and crashes. Noob?

#4 Our Seahawk pilot. Has about 4 clanmates that he takes to ride with him. Flying high he observes the map. If he sees that team's flag turns white, fastly dives the and spins slowly so that the minigunners can do their job. After geting the flag back, he boucnes off to a another white flag to save it. Has massive points and his friends have big KD. Noob?

Could you call these people noobs, whores or padders or pros? Point is that the KD is overrated. Person who likes to go inf only in many maps is usually killed by a artillery and a tank. Is this noobish?

K/D ratio and points/rank, like your saying, aren't great ways to see how skilled someone is.

Take Americas Army for example. to start with honor tracked skill, eventually every had played x amount and/or found maps to get quick points, so honor was just a show of the approx time played. Then, imo, that tracker thing ruined the game. everyone was obsessed with their ever so precious k/d ratio, eventually resorting to reconnecting after every death.

I rate a player on their team work and general game awareness. A good player to me will stick with you and your squad, selecting thier kit depending on what the rest of the squad are carrying or what the situation is at the time, they know to cover you when you go to heal/revive and are always aware when they need to heal or whatever.
Oh and the picking up a fallen medics kit to bring them back to life is a good sign.

Everyones a noob according to someone at some point.

what if at the end of every round they had the ability to choose MVP out of the 3 or 4 top players? would that give a more accurate reading of how good someone is?

uh i think to determine if someones a good player or not is to play with them or against them. most of the high ranks suck it

i think a good player is someone who if you die as medic they grab your pack and revive you. i like it when people do that. i really do appreciate that

no direct correlation between KD ratios etc but by looking at SPM and KD ratio and making some judgements by looking at maps and vehicles played etc, u can still pick out the pro players just by looking at stats.

sure u might say there no way to prove their pro without playing with them but seriously, if you HAD played versus these people in fair fights then you would realise that although theres no way to be 100% correct, your stat-based assumptions are usually pretty close to the mark.

Yah, I agree. Whenever I see a medic get killed, I tend to run over and pick up his kit to save him and other nearby players - the amount of positive responses and "thanks mate"s you get are way more fulfilling than another 10 kills imo! :)

SPM is the measurement for skill in this game.
