    Ever Notice...

That large online multiplayer gaming corporations today only ever seem to do the bare minimum for their "big" patches that are supposed to address the issues currently affecting the game.

I have noticed a trend that seems to suggest that while they fix alot of technical bugs they always seem to disregard most and even all of the major issues that the users seem to all agree upon.

At the same time we are sitting here having paid for the game itself and are generally always left wondering where did the professional support that one should expect in a game that they and hundreds of thousands of others paid for go.

After all we are the end users and they are the ones who determine what we use and how to fix what we determine as a group to be quite unsatisfying.

I guess in the end we will all be dissapointed with the next patch since it is obviously only aimed at fixing the limited technical bugs associated with BF2.

In the end I would assume that this points to the fact that being as how there is no subscription fee associated with this game that EA/DICE believes it is best to make a quick title based on the same existing template in order to cash in once more before it collapses on them.

All in all I have and still do enjoy most of what battlefied 2 has to offer yet at the same time realize that much improvement is needed. On top of that I feel like we are being shafted by a company that obviously wont go out of their way to support their first product since its sales have long since peaked off, and only seek one more quick burst of profit before practically retiring the series of Battlefied games.

Your best bet is to become the CEO of a video game company, expand your empire using the greatest and latest technologies and kaniving marketing, and finally buy out EA. Once this is complete you can fire the project managers and actually appeal to the general public and target audience in a swift and sweeping ethical reform of the whole industry. Good luck!

true but what are you gonna do about it??? were just stuck in a f-ed up situation no support unless we have to pay fee but i dont see much players doing that. So like you said we'll only get limited "suport"(as far as that can be called support)

Why do we seem to omit and forget large developers that actually has great support like Valve and Blizzard? Valve continously updates their games, including Half Life 1, constantly like every month.

Not defending EA here or their actions, but at least they allow their games companies to produce more that one post-game patch in order to correct any errors. Activision for example will only allow one patch post game that they'll pay for ! If the games producers can't get that one patch right, then the whole product is screwed.

EA may be interested in profits as any other software publishing company is, but they're miles better than the likes of tight a$$ Activision and Sega.

Blizzard?? Maybe they had good support for other games, but their support of World of Warcraft is the worst in a mmorpg to date. They add stupid content in the patches and actually fix nothing. Content is not bad of course, but the content they add is just stupid.

I agree that Valve is good, with the exception of the "Steam"ing pile of crap they put out, but they eventually did fix it

Back in my day, games were programmed well! We didn't need any of this, patch carry-on to have a game work well. Ah yes... those were the days.

                  Lol! Indeed!

The only thing you can do is to not buy anymore products from the company that you feel has gyped you and buy from those that act in a manner you are comfortable with.

lol this post reminds me of SOE, the company running Star Wars Galaxys.

After a major overhaul in game systems there where more bugs then you could count, quests broken left and right, droids and pets became useless, guilds had a whole new set of worries and monsters became invincible (except if they where 2 lvls lower then yourself) and so forth..

Then a 'patch' came out fixing.... candlelight

I can laugh with it now but at the time...

*edit* I prefer it that they first work out the patch so they know it doesn't conflict with the existing game systems, unlike SOE.. it's even more frustrating to having to deal with a fix that fixes one problem and creates 10 worse ones!! So I'm going to just be patient and hope for the patch to be awesome! :)

Valve are no doubt the best game developers imho. They develop extremely stable games, at least in my experience. HL2, CS has never crashed on me not even once throughout my thousands of times playing this game! Becasue EA make absoloute **** loads of games every year it is difficult to support their games as how Valve do. At the end of the day we all play BF2 and are hoping for them to create a stable patch and tbh I don't care if they leave extra features, maps etc out as long as the game doesn't crash and I could go to task manager life will be good

One of the funniest pieces of gaming journalism I ever read was regarding that major "sit in" or "protest" or whatever they called it on a major server, and when they all refused to leave, moderators were going through the server teleporting people into space.

The dyanmics of such a thing in a BF2 environment are rather amusing.

ever play that game called World of Warcraft? even though it is the most popular mmorpg in the world, there are tons of things wrong with it. there are still bugs that where in the game since beta. every time they make a new patch, they create more bugs. just go look at the WoW forums and you will see.
