Re: I have ******* had it with people who intentionally punish.

Roger that mate, but either way you still were killed at that specific moment by that specific gamer, right? Not interested in arguing realism either, just making an observation on the necessity of this option.

In a perfect world, good folks would only accidentally shoot team mates. So we wouldn't need any "forgiveness" option as it would always be understood to be a honest accident. And they do indeed happen.

It is only the bad people we are trying to deal with here, but we are trying to do so by using a "good faith" system where gamers decide whether to forgive or not to forgive. In other words, determine whether it was an accident or not. This reminds me of Canada's gun laws, which seems to only punish the honest gun owners and has little real impact on dealing with criminal activity.

But I digress, maybe there is more value here then I realize. When one is forgiven (whether really an accident or not - who really knows for sure?), what does the forgiveness actually do? Does it erase the kill from all the records? Does it remove you from an auto-kick feature of the server? (X number of TKs and you're booted) I really don't know, but if so then there is value for this option. Though if I killed a team mate, I killed him and would assume this stat couldn’t be erased whether intentional or not.

    Regards

        retaliation is bad mmmkay?

If everybody would act like the topic poster+the tk'er we would be fubar. Try to forgive, and if you accidentally tk and get punished, too bad. Live with it. Dont retaliate, it creates a scene of revenge . Anger leads to Hate leads to Fear leads to....

The -4 points should be penalty enough, people who tk purposly should be tracked by the servers not given the option of punishing. Also if the server is admined, only they should be able to get people banned/booted for tking. Least while an admin is on.

I personally tend to see if a person aplogises. If they don't I punish, if they do, I forgive.

Thats okay and all, but sometimes they dont have time to do that cause they are in a fire fight or flying or something. I know that sometimes i dont even realize that i tked somebody until the words, "You were punished for the Teamkill" comes on the screen. Just today i saved a guys life on the .50 cal on top of a humvee, but he ran into the direction of my fire, then punished. Ya i got ****ed, but its not worth the effort. I just forget about it and continue playing.

yeah its annoying. When i first started playing bf2 it didnt happen to me that often but now because im kicking ass more people get in the way i mean ok fair enough i was probably careless but if i kill several enemies and get 1 unintentional TK then i don't deserve to be punished and yet all the time people hit that punish key, its not like they did accidently u can see they hit punish straight away it really winds me up.

Re: I have ******* had it with people who intentionally punish.

Intentional punishers, i've run into them, litteraly, some of them jump out infront of my vehicle (maybe trying to jump in?).

Usually when someone TKs me i'll for give them right away, although i've made exceptions. So i get tked, ok, press the forgive button and all is well... NO! turns out during this game even if i press "forgive" it still punishes them... (no its not set on auto punish). I even checked and the message says "you chose to forgive..." i only noticed this because the dude was swearing at me and stuff .

This really annoys me, has this happened with anyone else?
So yeah i guess a solution would be to try to stay out of tk situations, which i seem to be doing well with.

question: is there an Auto forgive option? i havent really checked, i think i'll go do that next time i play.

That is the only answer to these type of players. They don't listen to reason, lack a sense of fairness, and are not wanted in the online gaming community.

Therefore, I simply get them to TK me 3 times, and bye-bye. On with the game with nice people...
