I have unlocked the L85A and the M95, both two very powerful and accurate guns if used correctly.

The L85A medic gun is most efficient for sniping medium to far range in SINGLE SHOT MODE. It's practically useless in auto, so if you do unlock it, keep it in single shot, even for close encounters. This gun is amazingly accurate and very good for picking off people while staying just on the outskirt of the battle. Many people complain that it is too weak when going up against assault or other classes but this is most likely due to the fact that medics don't get body armor and are therefore suseptable to falling first in a fight against an enemy equipped with body armor. The only reason I have for hating the medic class sometimes is not the gun/s, rather the accuracy of the paddles. I can be right ontop of a player shocking away at his lifeless corpse and wont get a revive. I really hope they fix this in the 1.03 patch.

The M95 is an awesome sniper rifle for those who enjoy the occasional session of sniper combat. It is a bit tricky to get used to, due to the somewhat greater bullet drop than the other sniper rifles (easy to counter by aiming a bit higher than target, depending on distance). I have picked off quite a few enemies in light and medium armored vehicles, as well as a few pilots in hovering helocopters. It is definitely a fun gun to mess around with but if you are looking for a gun that will turn the tide of battle in your favor, I think a gun better suited for close combat would be the DAO, PKM, or G36C.

Next unlock is probably going to be the DAO, simply because I can't stand being the AT kit while feeling completely vulnerable in close quarters combat against almost every kit. The auto shotgun would rock in those narrow city streets of Karkand or any other city map. One might argue that the shotgun takes away the ability to engage targets at a distance, but that is what the pistol is for.

Very well written, i couldnt say it better myself amigo. I personally have the G-36c, the Barret Model aka M95, and the DAO-12. Only thing that sux about the DAO is the reload time.......... try running away from someone while reloading 12 shots back in the drum barrel !!!!

P.S. Watler is crazy..... the G-36c is very effective and it owns at long range and close range. Full auto for close encounters and single fire for long range, its basically like an auto sniper gun at long range.

i own the real g3, which makes me want the game version terribly, but ill resist and go with the stryker 12 aka DAO

though i snipe far too much on dalian/oman to care

at last, i beg to differ, i have turned the tide of battle with m95 many a time, sniping out jet pilots, stealing bombers, landing/having someone spawn with me, rockses'
or just keep pilots grounded, not hard when you get goodlike with m95

Couldnt be happier with my M95 and my G36C, both great unlocks that surpase there altenatives. I also discovered bullet drop which makes sniping with the M95 a dream.

If you have trouble with the M95, try compensating for the bullet drop at long range. And trust me, any shot you can make with an M24, you can make with an M95, right up to 535 meters, or absolute max FOV(characters dissapear at this distance.).

AHHAHAH i just looked at Raccoons stats again........ what a F U C King noob, he has over 108 hours on strike at karkand......... and not even half that for any other map.

What would you guys reccomend for the first weapon unlock? I normally play assault or support but I think once the patch comes I will be playing Spec Ops more.

Take PKM (support), assault unlock sucks, trust me

i say the spec ops is the worst cuz of NO LASER SIGHT the aim sux...but if your spec ops and the enemy comander calls a scan and stand still u dont show up.

my fav is the m95...well its the most fun to use since its a sniper rifle and u can take out pilots

L85: Sometimes I love it, but most times I hate it. Point blank and full auto, and you will lose most fights, the spread is horrendous. I prefer any medic stock weapon over this. Definitly regret unlocking it.
G36: I think most will agree this is the best all around unlock.
G3: Nice at mid/far to close range, the damage is real nice.
PKM: Good if you like support, seems a big upgrade from the standard machine guns.
M95: Its no M24, but if you dont like the sem autos, go for it
Shottys: DOA 12 is good, engi one is just a waste of unlock
