I feel sorry for them in a way they have to resort to changing the look of bf2 and making walls transparent etc. Destroys this beautiful game just to get some extra points.

There will always be cheaters no matter what just gotta live with them and pwn them.

Played a round on karkand last night and the vibe in the game was really s****y. Everyone was just talkin all kinds of s*** and it just didn't feel fun (if anyone gets me) then I jumped over to my old standby the "old bastards clan" and had a blast....I love that server, Teamwork, VOIP and good attitudes.

The whole vide around the game has taken a very nasty turn, everyone is so caught up with the stats that the gameplay takes a hit.

which is why DICE/EA should remove the stats and let everyone play with whatever they want. leave the medals in but get rid of the points and stats and unlocks.

But really, it's not the stats' fault, it's the people who whore them. Sure, if the stats didn't exist there wouldn't be anything to whore, but it's a great part of the game for those that don't treat them like e-egos and just as a supplement for the enjoyment of the game. It's kind of the same philosophy that guns don't kill people, people kill people. Take away the guns and people will still find a way to kill each other. I personally think the stats are great, the medals are fun, I enjoy earning the unlockable weapons, but it doesn't make me any more inclined to try cheap tactics or have a crappy attitude than it would if the stats weren't there. I play this game with the same attitude and philosophy that I did BF1942 and BF:V. So you can blame the stats all you want, but it's the people that abuse the system or use stats as their only reason to play that are truly at fault.

And I maintain that those people will eventually get bored with only playing for stats and will move on to the next game, leaving the true BF2 fans to enjoy the game. Any new game has its share of n00b morons, but eventually they'll die out and become a minority.

but, like you said its not the stats but the way people play to get them. You can look at mine and see its nothing good but I like it because its just the time I actually put in and what i've got. It's when people are TK'ing for vehicles to get all the points, farming, etc etc

Lets hope they get bored because Im with BF2 for a long time.

The stats are good for tracking your own improvements and what not....But humans by nature are a competitive lot and well, yeah nuff said....

you seem to believe that people play for stats and care about stats if its high and prestigious.

You are wrong. There are huge number of players that play this game regardless of stats, they just play for fun and entertainment. Some of these people do earn respectable stats as those that are currently at the top.

...which therefore does not make me wrong since you yourself said that a "huge number" does, even though I disagree. I agree that they are for fun, but it is disheartening to see someone that knows they cheated/scammed their way to be #1. Yea, I played DC all the time without a regard for stats, but while they are available, why not put a little extra effort into it? I would play this even if it was not ranked, but it makes it a little more fun so instead of putting Raven Shield (or back in the day it would have been C&C Renegade, the only other ranked fps game at the time) or some other game in, I choose to play this one just based on the fact that it ranks me. It's the people that are top players that aren't top skilled players that upsets me. I, like a numerous other amount of people, would like to be able to look at my rank as how well I can compete with others that are playing fair. I'm not saying anything bad about people that play it for fun, but hey, if you know it's wrong and "don't care" or whatever about your rank, go play in the unranked servers where it's legal.
Personally, I agree that there are plenty of people that are lower ranked than me that are just as good, if not better, that just do not have the same amount of time as me, which by the way is not all that much either.

It's hard to put alot of time in....especially when you take in to account the amount of points and what not that is needed for some of the ranks and medals etc. I don't thing I'll ever get there and If I do im gonna be one of the last to do so :)
