    urban or vehicle maps??

Ok so after reading tons of threads and post it seems we have a heated love and hate for vehicle maps.
One side we have a group saying they only enjoy Urban maps because of the limited vehicles and more infantry squad work and on the other side we have people enjoying vehicle maps and saying that the Urban maps are more CS, not the essence of BF.

Now some of these maps can fall into both catagories and some not so much.
Heck Im sure some people enjoy any map type, I too love Urban maps but have 1 or 2 non-Urban maps I enjoy.

Myself Im sure Id enjoy non-urban maps more if I had a joy-stick and could fly, or if I practiced the Cobra more on single player..BH is no problem, but I dont enjoy it..I feel like a bus driver exploiting a known point whoring cheat. Sometimes if no ones using it,and im all alone at a base or carrier I use it for quick transportion. Mostly I guess i just get bored with non-infantry against infantry, it becomes spawn wars..watching people...wait, or once you blow it up they come righ tback with a new one.

So state your opinion and endulge. But to be honest, alot of people in the game cannot fly...anyhting, so state if you can fly and what you can fly, then it will make your opinion more understandable to us non-flyers.

Don't get me wrong, urban maps kick serious ass but there are enough games where you can just run around and shoot stuff. I love the Battlefield series for it's mix of infantry and vehicular combat in the free roaming environments. If you want infantry only play Counterstrike or one of the other 500 similar games.

Oh, since you asked: I can and do fly anything and everything

Urban maps are the best by far. Less vehicles= fairer fights. Thats why most people play them because its all about skill not who has a vehicle and who aint. Plus you dont have to walk for 20mins to find something to shoot at. BF2 was sposed to be about squads yet the only maps where you actually use squads effectively are not suprisingly city maps.

Well I enjoy playing both urban & vehicle maps, considering the main reason why I got into BF the first place was mainly for the large scale maps with all kinds of vehicles. I just wished that they would've add at least another kind of gametype (CTF, etc:p ) thats geared more to the urban map style...which brings us to BF: Special Forces thank God! Anyways...as far as my flying goes I'm still practicing, particularly the Super Cobra. I just keep managing to get a lil outta control when attacking:p but I'm approving

Urban maps, more team work seems to be involved insead of smacktard idiots wasting tanks and aircraft.

Urban maps for sure i love ground fighting better then vehicals with ground fighting its just skill and your reflexs in the game. ive found that i fire first when im with a sniper when we both see an enemy and i end up with the kill.

Gulf of Oman can get very annoying when MEC have all the vehicles...

BF series is all about the vehiculer combat.

As previous posters have said there are plenty of other games that already do infantry combat, and in my humble a lot better than BF do it.

As for squad play, you can still do this with vehicles. Having a heli, jet and armour supported by infantry all in a good squad can cause havoc with focused attacks, using the rock/paper/scissors scenario to beat down your opponents.

That applies to everything but jets and as all non city maps have jets they are unbalanced.

I tend to disagree. I rarely have any probs with jets when in tanks etc. The main one is heli's but they can get shot down fairly easily. Although if you've got a really good bomber pilot on a map it's almost garenteed that he will take out the gold.

I like the play styles of both types, i have to admit some the most exillerating games i've played have been on karkand though. Running around like a mad man killing and reviving.

i love tight urban maps in a city...more infantry battle than on zatar or other big maps..i have spent the most time on strike at karkand..i simply love the map because there are some nice infantry battles and there are also tanks..

I love urban maps by far as being a sniper you get the chance to do more sniping. Plus it generates more teamwork encouragement in my opinion. Everyone seems different on urban maps - plus you get a lot more points :=D

I like the urban maps with a few vehicles. Karkand/Sharqui have a good balance :)
