Try to change the agp aperture size to 512. That's works for me, i have a radeon 9800pro with 1gb corsair xms and i play all in Ultra High except texture(med) and aax4, 30-55 fps (fraps).

there is your bottleneck right there this is costing you about 20fps, I had the same problem with my rig until I stopped using the Onboard sound

Well the ingame settings would/should help that. I've used AC97 and didn't see a difference in FPS from that to an Audigy 2 ZS. Although the onboard was set low and the Audigy is High w/EAX

Yeah, I noted before, if you're using onboard sound set it to "Low", EAX off and Software rendering.

doesn't make sense to have such a killer rig though and throttle it with OBS, just buy a soundcard..

I just went and disabled my Onboard sound (Realtek AC97) and ran the game.. i might have gotten an extra 5 FPS (at the max), but that's it.. still in the 40 - 50 range..

Make sure your motherboard drivers are installed. I had this problem before, and I installed the newest drivers for my motherboard, and it gave me instantly better performance.

Here is my rig:
P4 3.4Ghz Prescott
Abit AA8-DuraMAX
2GB Kingston HyperX DDR2-533 [3-3-3-10]
Saphire X850XT PE
Audigy2 ZS
(2)74GB WD Raptors [RAID-0]
WinXP Pro SP2

Game settings - Everything maxed w/6xAA. I get 65-75FPS on average, with dips down to 45 at the lowest.
