Its a mark of shame. Not getting this medal is a medal by itself, the reward for not playing like a noob. So remember not having a medal in that gap is a GOOD thing. Having it there is BAD thing.

Just had to point this out for all those OMG PURPLE HEART MEDAL, 1337!!!!11!!1!! people out there.

the purple heart is awarded for being wounded in combat in real life.. so yeah, it's the single most awarded medal.. maybe that's why it's so easy to get

I got mine on the very first round I played, hadn't adjusted to the shellshock effect, and the other team had a couple good pilots. I was surprised I killed 5 people lol.

I'm not ashamed of it.. if it makes some people think I suck because I have one, so much the better.. when they see my name they'll be just that little too arrogant for their health

It's all part of the learning process. I think that was one of the first medals I got lol.

The purple heart medal would mean more if people playd how the game was intended to be played I think. By that I mean acting like soldiers in a battlefield, working together, listening to your superiors, and conserving your life and resources. Then the medal would be awarded to those who went that extra mile and putting themselves in harms way for the good of the team. Those who start the charge at the enemy, who blow that tank when no AT personel is near by, or who go behind enemy lines to destroy the enemy radar would get this medal.

The way most people play now, conservative play is charging down the barrel of a tank with a weapon other than a knife. When people charge into combat this easily, the medal kind of looses meaning.

A friend came over one time to play some BF2, I let him play for awhile.. but once he got close to 5 kills 20 deaths I had to take over for a little bit..

i hate to admit this but u can only get it more than once but will only show up as one. u can get like 2 or 3 and the BFHQ will only show one.
