Why would you want a purple heart medal?

The negative connotations around the medal are enough to push me to avoid having the thing. Couldn't DICE have done something else to make it a worthy award (like 500 deaths with 500 revives and 500 heal points that sounds like something I would go after)

no i didnt try to get it, i got it accidently when i was playinh like crap back in the noob days, and well yea, i only have one, anyone that had more then 1, has to realy be a noob, or try. No offence to noobs outthere.

I purposely went for it... it's pretty. And so what.. I'm sure you've been killed almost 20 times before in a game.. why not get something for it.

well because its not killed more then 20 times, its 5 kills and 20 deaths which is hard now.
and yes the medal is sexy looking but, whatever.

I was having a really bad round in karkand, around 5-15 or something, so I thought, shoot, why not just get 5 more deaths and a shiny medal?

...How courageous I must have looke charging through the streets with a knife.

Its the one medal I try really hard NOT to get. That alone makes it kinda fun.
