I just started a thread about this but unlike yourself I get kicked on everygame startup on multiplayer. had the game 4 days and havent yet got a minutes online play :/
Man this happened to me last night just when 3 vehicles were about to cross an area of a road I had placed 5 C4 packs. I clicked the detonator.....nothing.....I saw them roll on by. Then I get the "there is a problem with your connection" message. DAMMIT!!!
I apologise - it was my bad - feeling a little dumb now sorry mate.
I have not even bothered to log on tonight to the game I just cant bear the 10 mins thinking GOD all is ok until......BAM your connection BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Thanks to everyonr posting here I appreciate knowing it is not just me.
trying playing on servers you have played on perviously to see if the same problem arises. If you have service pack 2 you might try deleting that crap since it causes way more problems then its worth. I get those problems all the time on certian servers that I use to play on a lot. But im on a oc3 connection now so if there is a lag issue its the server and I just get a new one heh. (for those that dont know oc3 is better then t3, go college life)
Well I cant gurantee you a fix, but I can tell you what fixed it for me. This may sound a litle too simple but give it a try. Yesterday or late last night, I couldnt play my game at all. I would get in a server and about 5-10 minutes into it i got the "server connection lost" screen. It kept happening over and over again. In more than 5-10 servers. So I try all the firewall and anti virus crap anyone would try with a problem like this, and it still kept happening. So then(i dont know why but) I came up with the idea to unplug my modem and let it sit for 5 minutes while I went upstairs to clean my BF2 CD. When I got back I plugged my modem back in, put my cd in and I havent been disconnected since. So either unplugging my modem or cleaning my disc did the trick. My guess is it was my disc, just cause it looked pretty dirty. Give it a try, I bet if you havent fixed the problem yet that youll do just about anything. If you do decide to do it and want some suggestions: I use dawn the dish washing liquid to clean my cd's. Just hand wash them and dry them with any soft cloth, and your cd will be "blingin". Hope this helps Let me know if it works.
Your connection is lost due to the movement of the earth around the sun showing when aliens will come to earth to destory us all in a great battle. Many will die...
As gunslinger has said unplugging the modem can help quite a bit sometimes, something to do with refeshing it or something(im no techie). It actually says in my motorolla modem instructions that if connection problems arise then try unpugging it for 15 mins. I think you should try this it has worked for me before.
Yeah Spikey is probably right. Because today I tried to play and the same problem occured, this time I just cleaned my cd and still didnt work. Unplugged my modem and it worked.
I find that re-booting my modem seems to work wonders when it happens too often. The problem is that it happens at a crucial moment during the game, like you're in a tank and suprise a group of enemy infantry and they start to run for cover..........
I used to get this when playing over the wireless connection - it'd bomb out and never return, requiring a reboot.
I now only get this over the hard line when the server admins kick everyone out and start a clan match or something. If I try to rejoin immediately you can see it's locked.
Many times this has been brought up, many times EA/DICE will read.
Solutions that seem to work have been mentioned, don't bother with formating, reinstalling, etc.
- Most likely caused by the server; memory leaks (supposed to be fixed with 1.03)
- Resetting your modem/router helps for ALOT of connection issues.
- PunkBuster updates are crucial if the server and client can't properly communicate. Download pbweb.exe from www.punkbuster.com and follow the instructions on how to update it manually. This helped me with COD in the day.
