Re: G36C - I have seen the light

G3 is a luck gun. Will this shot hit? Will it miss? I don't even think god knows.

With any gun that has high recoil and low refire rate you should look at the crosshairs while prone or crouched and see how much they bloom when you fire then time your shots so they come right back together before you fire again. Just scope in after you do that and you 'should' hit anything you're pointing at. Thats with a normal gun though, not a G3. For some reason the G3 seems more accurate when you don't use the site then when you do.

The G3 has low recoil (lower than anything but the G36c), but it has slightly worse deviation than the AK's. The result is that it is more accurate in full auto, or if you are bursting, but less accurate than the AK's in single shot, or beyond medium range.

Like most guns the accuracy will disapear in full auto after the first 3-4 shots, so unless you are right on top of someone you should fire 2-4 round bursts. A 4 shot burst is enough to kill even against body armour. At medium to long range try using single shot and remember it's not a sniper rifle.

If your not on an urban map, don't use it, in fact don't play assault at all.

I play assault on Urban maps only. No use for m203 on open terrain. On urban maps I shoot Vodniks with it getting loads of kills :)
Thanks for all tips. I think I'll take G3 for my second unlock on the account I use now. Thinking of DAO-12 but... there's been 666 topics on that :)

Yeah, my carbines stats were at 25% before I got the G36c, now it's 32% and keeps on going up there... :)

Re: G36C - I have seen the light

Don't like the default spec op guns but for my first I unlocked the M95 but after playing on brothers account which he managed to unlock the G36C, I went WTF! Probably because I use the sniper a lot which has made me accurate but this gun is incredably accurate. The reload time is amazingly fast compared to other weapons and is it me but the gun doesn't seem to have recoil whilst in full auto spraying the crap out of someone... even when standing? The downside is that there seems to be too many Spec Ops around which puts me off.

Re: G36C - I have seen the light

One of my reasons for opting initially for G3 first was because I really REALLY like the default spec ops sight. It is an excellent sniping option IMO. But as I've slowly learned how to get around in BF2 and what I can get away with vis-a-vis movement and position vs other infantry, yeah the G36c owns it.

Maybe I've been spoiled but I would have preferred the G36C level of dispersal/accuracy to be the lower end of the scale for the non-support guns, and had all the "better" rifles more accurate. It certainly would reduce the incentive for certain types to jump around firing that god damned assault gren launcher.

EDIT: also when the patch is introduced it's going to be spec ops au-go-go for sure... I cant wait to see the mad dash for enemy assets ... might be time to unlock the M95 and camp home base!

Totally agree. The new patch will be hopefully releasing the idea of destroying enemy assets. This will be a major problem for the commander but will make the game more interesting as Artillery will hardly ever be used. We probably won't see as many commanders as we do now. Perhaps it would be better if the commander was a sniper and camped next their own assets...

Re: G36C - I have seen the light

Just after the patch release we'll see whole spec ops squads running towards commander assets just to make a few points, which will make the game suck for a few days. I just hope it won't take to long to bring normality back to the game.

It's all good... Artillery annoying... UAV annoying... Game would be so much better without these features...

Re: G36C - I have seen the light

I already do that in the game anyway. When I choose to be spec ops especially on Strike at Kirkland I use up all my C4 on the enemy artillery. Strike at Kirkland being one of the most crowded maps Commanders can get a bunch of points within a matter of minutes. In real life people would blow up enemy assets and I think introducing this will encourage further teamwork play. Sure it will suck being commander but it will be more challenging.

U can always grap the weapons from the dead and test them before u choose.

I don't give a damn if I get points for taking out command assets. I do it already because it helps my team. The point system is messed and will only continue to be messed up because there is no way to take into account all of the things you can do to help or that retards can do to mess up your score, so I ignore it.

Why do people like the PKM? When I briefly tried it I didn't see a significant difference between it and the standard support gun. What did I miss?

That's why they call them Elite units. Special Ops groups always get the newest and hopefully most effective weapons and gear first.

For that reason, I can see why the Spec Ops is superior in many ways.

I love my PKM. What I find amusing is to go from using the PKM to the SF unlock or the Medic unlock. The sound difference is a riot. I feel like I'm holding a pelet gun when firing those.

So far I have to say the G36a really, really a killing machine. But for the urban maps, the PKM does really mow them down.
