I judge by the apparent skill of the player. People with a 99:1 k/d ratio with a 400 score in-game who are all the way across the map mean nothing to me.

If I play a day of games with someone, engage in combat with them a few times, maybe a few fights, I then make my assumptions of them.

I second that. After a few games it's fairly easy to judge whether someone is a jerk or a well-natured player. Not always apparently, but most people show their true colors in one way or another after a few rounds.

i only posted how i (and possibly others) ppl feel, i made no judgements on it. is that whining, complaining, spamming or answering the question?

im afraid i must have missed the meeting of everybody except me.

I tend to look at ratios, vehicle usage, flag defense, and weapon accuracy.

OK, this is the quick easy answer that everybody should use as a guide(I think).

I don't judge anything by kills/deaths/ratios/accuracy/etc. Why, you might ask? Very simple. For EVERYONE, REGARDLESS OF INTELLIGENCE/DEXTERITY/REFLEXES/etc., there is always a learning curve. In games like this, the learning curve is defined by dying. The more times you die, the more different ways you die, you learn what to do and what not to do(there are of course some noted exceptions both to the negative and positive).

What I base my opinion of someones skill on, is the amount of time they've spent playing the game. I will NOT allow a nOOb to watch my back in game, because as they learn, I die-NO THANKS. I'd rather talk to someone who has the more experience than me.

NOW, having said that, THROW IT ALL OUT! Why, you might ask? Because it's very simple, some people will do all their learning curve "Training" under one name, and as soon as they work all the kinks out, they start all over with a new name. While they still have the chance of getting crappy scores, their chances this way are indeed very slim.

What does this mean to you? Again, very simple, when you look at someones stats, there is no way to tell if this is a nOOb, or someone who is re-starting.

well if all u kno about a person is their k:d and overall score u can only judge them as a good/bad player. Overall score is much mroe important that k:d for sure and the k:d ratio isnt that reliable until i have played with that person myself becuase me myself ive been the worst player and ive been the bbest player on the same server..so i cant really judge ppl by that

I say flag defends are what make the man! A good defender is worth his weight in gold, due to there being so few. Or perhaps on the other end, flags captured.

I like to look at them like I like to look at a fancy car: Its nice but it doesnt mean all that much. Sometimes its fun to compair but very rarely is it importent to. Now, I do care about my stats. Ive always been a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the things I do, and I enjoy the challenge of improving. Some people have better stats than me, others do not.

I freely admit that Im not very good lol and Im probably right in guessing the best of the best players probably play on closed, unranked servers to better train for tournaments. some people come from a different style of play. I came to this game from UT2K4 and D3, so my score reflects that style of play.

If you know you dont want to tell or you have to lie, then dont. I want some honest answers here, and If there are no negative answers I know someone has lied.

Do you judge people by scores or ratios? Do you judge the weight or opinions or accusations by the scores or ratios of the person?

Nah, anybody below me sucks and anyone above me must be cheating or got in the server before me.

I ignore all stats bar my own, which I look at out of curiosity.

K/D ratios are only valid to compare under rather limited circumstances. I wouldn't expect a support playing squadleader who hangs back and does his job to score as highly as some assclown whoring an f15 or even an assault on his squad. Nonetheless, I'd rate him more highly as a player. Restraint is tricky.

I've seen the guys with (so they say), the best stats from time to time, and they are usually total smacktards. They are bunnyhoppers and prone jumpers and pilots to a man.

It's easy to ignore scores/stats when the top scorers are consistently tossers who spend their lives forming an orderly queue at the airfield.

If anything, I tend to dismiss the opinions of people who score too highly, as I suspect the only BF2 they have seen is out of a BH windscreen or bouncing up and down till one of us pukes.

The answer to your question is "yes", then. I tend to assume anyone with a really good k/d ratio is the kind of ****er I don't want to be on the same server with.

I judge on playing style, if its teamwork oriented (ie pick up the medic kit of a fallen medic and revive him if one has the chance - that sort of stuff) its ok with me.

Ok, that one comment is throwing me off topic. Pet peave of mine I guess. There's nothing more annoying (ok, well maybe there are more annoying playing habits of some people in the game :) ) than busting your ass reviving and healing your squad and everyone around because you're the only medic and then when you die nobody has the courtesy to take your kit and revive you. I try to do it as much as I can and when possible (ie I won't run into the middle of a fire fight just to get killed trying to revive someone with their own kit.) Not nearly enough people do this. It's especailly good to do when your squad leader is medic and he's just been killed. Not only will he appreciate it immensely but you'll earn karma points (and no, you won't find that hidden on the leaderboard somewhere. :) )
