Well lets see, I mainly play sniper now that I have the m95. The last time I played I got 20 some kills and over 50 team points mainly from capping flags. Is that not contributing? I don't camp ever because I think you can be more useful as a sniper by moving to different places plus its harder for people to find you.

Well thats a first. I was refering to the noob snipers that camp allll dayyyyy looong.

I'm a hardcore pilot, and even I say that's a valid tactic... Contributes nothing to the team? Are you ****ting me? Do you have any idea how many tickets he will save if he can keep a good pilot out of the air for even 5 minutes??

I dont think this is the same as spawn raping, unless you are shot the moment you spawn. If you have time to run to a jet or helo, you also have time to run for cover. You have a weapon in your hands and an AA gun that vomits massive lead showers....use them. It's not the same as spawning in front of a tank or APC sitting there blasting away. Just my opinion. (by the way I dont use this tactic because I cant steer a 'chute to save my a.s.s :) )

Ditto. You guys are just lame. Everytime I hear "at least let me take off the ground" I just blink and bomb them again. War is about having the most advantage, don't like it don't play a war game.

One could call it spawn raping, and one could also call it a form of payback for all those games when you are getting owned by airpower...... .......If you get taken out for the second time while trying to take off in your precious jet (and by the way, anyone who is flying a jet doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to criticising snipers for not getting into the "real fight"), then perhaps it's time to use teamwork and a little ingeniuty to take out the sonofabitch.

Well said... you bishes can't complain about snipers being wussies when you are flying around in your attack jet that there is NO defense for except an NME jet.

How many times have you been playing as a ground pounder, just about to cap a flag after an epic battle, only to have a jet jockey drop his load on your position? Sniping is sniping. Snipers exist behind enemy lines to create havoc and prey on the unwary. Personally, I snipe mostly for defensive reasons - keeping our flags from being capped, but I won't hesitate to take out those who are spawning at the same flag time and again. Don't like it? Spawn at a different flag and come find me! It's all part of the game.

Agreed. Snipers are supposed to operate that way, not stand out in the open where you can easily kill them.

For the record:

Camping the enemy airfield is by far the most effective thing a squad can do for it's team. This grants your team air superiority and usually leads to a victory. It's not a lame tactic.. it's smart. If the jets never get off the ground they can never do any damage. It takes more skill to stay alive behind enemy lines than it does running from flag to flag capping it. It's your collective lack of skill that makes you hate on airfield campers.

i go ground, i use tanks, im pretty good with jets and attack choppers, and ive made alot of points playin on the BH in mashtuur a few times

but hey, as said, spawn raping is at least realistic, name wars where people didnt get shot when they werent on the battlefield

There is a built in anti spawn rape tool USE IT. And to be a nice guy here is how you do it. 1 join a squad, 2 when you are killed go to your spawn screen select no spawn point then exit, 3 use your C key to see how your squad leader is doing and when it is safe to, select him as you spawn point and spawn safely. Finally now you NO REASON TO CRY. If your spawning with out seeing WTF is going on then your dumb.

Here is the reason to spawn camp a carrier...... When you spawn with the INTENT of bring to bear a weapon that is detrimental to my team winning then I have every RIGHT to prevent that by using continuous bombing runs, continuous artillery, hoping in to a BH to use against you, and my favorite putting a 50 cal slug in your head. That intent makes you fare game the instant you spawn, and with that said happy hunting.

I think that camping at an enemybase u can't capture or next to a spawn point with no intent on capturing a flag is just cheap. Seems too much like pointfarming to me

I've got maybe 50 kills as a sniper, but I must say it's really fun to camp airfields. Not just the easy kills, but once their entire team is out to get you it gets interesting. Most people on here hate it because they have been victims of it so much. I wouldn't let them bother you.

there is nothing wrong w/ sniping pilots on the runway.

dont listen to the trolls. they are just upset that they are only invulnerable when in the air. if they had it their way they would spawn inside of an energy shield and be transported on a jetsons like conveyor belt to their jet.

face reality, whats the first thing 90% of pilots will do if they make it to the air? head straight for the enemy spawn and just bomb it all round long. jets cant cap points, there is no difference.

in fact the only thing funnier than sniping pilots in cockpits is sniping idiots 'waiting their turn' at the airfield.

Okay I admit that those idiots standing in line at a airfield deserve to get shot, sometimes they even shoot each other fighting over a jet or heli. theres this one guy called oikeistopoju who thinks he owns every plane or heli and will TK u if you try to take *his* stuff

A sniper should give people a few seconds after spawning (unless he's capping a flag and has to defend himself). And I agree with glasseye (good post). Shooting pilots when they are taking off is fine with me.
