They had an anti-tank to up there, now that I remember it... problem is, that once you fire, it is essentially an arrow, pointing your position out.

In clan matches infantry maps I tend to hide behind cars, tanks etc. As we aren't allowed to use vehicles on this ladder then its the most obvious place but nobody looks there :P

Cranes in general are just crap. Snipers waiting in the same spot throughout the map gets kinda boring. I tend to go out and rush the hell out of people backing up my squad from the distance. Don't like sitting on one spot.

The best bit is when a noob sniper from your own team is up a crane, you know your gonna be safe for a while with him banging away with his m95 and you picking headshots with the m24 when everyones trying to shoot him down.

Never pick the highest point to snipe you stick out like a sore thumb, always pick mid height and shadow so you can blend in.

working for me at the mo.

a guy in green suite is always not hard to spot on a brownish-oranage crane with a light blue backgroundXD

Put it this way whenever I'm a sniper first place I scan is the cranes and rooftops.
Your obviously not a good sniper if the first place everyone looks to is your spot.
I'm quite a succesful sniper when I do play sniper I always pick original spots places where you don't expect to see a sniper
I can't count how many times I've sniped people off cranes.

Yeah, the minute I get sniped I check the rooftops and cranes, there's always some idiot up there. As has been pointed out the best places to snipe are mid to low, shadowed spots with some cover and an exit. I find hiding in nooks and crannies of alleyways pays off well, as long as they dont see your muzzleflash you are safe from discovery. I had a rare time on Zatar Craplands hiding next to one of the wrecked helos that are used as scenery, staying tight under one side and shooting people off the centre hill during all the fighting that goes on there. Someone saw me and tried to rush me, but it's 400 yards of open ground and he did'nt get far.

One thing to remember is to keep on the move. Staying in one spot for a long time is dumb...although I love those of you that do.

Finding snipers is cake as commander and I go out of my way to take them out - or direct my troops to them. You might be able to hide in a shadow - but you cannot hide from radar scans...which is unfortunate...you are using the best cammo made supposedly, yet you still stick out like a sore thumb.

keep going up on the tower, once we run out of ground targets and the opposing helo is out of action, we'll fly our attack helo by the cranes so my gunner can pick up a few free kills :) :)

Snipers aren't that big a deal when every1 is in a vehicle!

                        Re: Snipers, CRANE = BAD

I've shot snipers down with 4 to 5 quick pistol hits in a row when I play anti tank. I empty a aimed clip at them and they make it very easy for me when they never move and just lay there like lumps.

I use my L85 as a sniper rifle, in single shot mode :)

the crane on sharki is predictable, but if you play kubradam and pick some crane nowbody thingks of, nowbody is going to spot you, only when bad luck

sorry, but if you are using the medic unlock, and they have a medic up there, you will not kill them all over and over again.

i remember one night i was playing on sharqui and there had to be at least 7 people on the crane. about 4 where the control cap is, 1 on the platform right below it and 2 way out on the end. i had a lot of kills that game.
