the crane is the first place i look on any map for snipers

yep if I get sniped on sharqi, I switch to sniper kit and look at the crane, bye, bye buddy

Cranes are pretty unoriginal spots to snipe from. When you're getting hit from a sniper, the first place you look is probably the crane, and nine times out of ten there's one up there. It's the snipers that pick bushes to hide behind or buildings to hide in that give me fits, because they're harder to find. The ones on the cranes are easy pickins.

i think u look to the crane first cuz its the highest area..and idk why but snipers like high areas

actaully spotting snipers on the crane is hard...well sortof...well i was on the warehouse in gulf of oman and my commander spots a sniper on the crane and im looking at the crane (83%visiblity) and i dont see naything..and the commander is like..the sniper is still there..but i dont see anyone..sigh

I really enjoy sniping from cranes, can be very effective for the 2 minutes you go unnoticed.

I don't bother to inconvience myself.. I just tell the chopper via team chat that a sniper is on the crane. Few seconds later, the chopper swoops in and they are dead. I've been in the chopper myself and gotten called in.. It's funny seeing the claymore near the sniper. I've done the same for the Hotel on Oman.. "Chopper crew, there's a SL and squad on the roof of the hotel, assistance please." They love the easy kills :laugh:

I hate climbing things when I'm a sniper.. I know that I'll be seen very quickly and taken out by a squad. I like to lag behind my squad, especially if they have armor.. Those AT guys gotta stand still for a while as their missle goes towards the tank.. Sitting ducks for my sniper gun. Or warn them about a crazy SpecOps trying to put C4 on em.. Over voip - "move back now, c4 coming in." Squish.

I agree cranes are bad, I try not to use one unless I am really stuck and can't get a jet or Helo to insert. (I only want it for 15 seconds)! I an not going to say where I like to snipe from but it is good fun to see the confusion on the opposing team when rounds start falling. Last night on Kubra Dam I could not get height so stayed low and picked off all the opposing snipers whilst they were frantically scanning the high points. Oh BTW totally agree with the threads on M24 v M95, it is far more accurate (M24):) , just it is nice to kill helo pilots as they settle into their seats

I dont know.. if your up on a crane there you can see basically everything its so high up. You cant be taken out if your in the middle either, and its so high up that the only real people that ever can take you out are other snipers.. and they are disadvantaged because there below you.

I dont play sniper but Its actually pretty effective to play anti-tank up on the crane, you know hitting tanks from up there the rocket is really accurate. Just need a supply crate up there.

Problem is getting up to the crane in the first place, you have to jump out a chopper since climbing up someone will always see you.

Once I had good times countersniping ppl on sharqi crane with L85 (unlocked medic). The fun part: they can barely move, and can't heal. I can do both. Almost always won.

Best sniping places are definitely not in high places. I've had my best sniping scores shooting from the ground level using shades and dark places to my advantage.

I am quite good with sniper (able to get golds with it, but only play sniper as USMC), and I never bother with cranes. They take so damn long to get up. Plus you are esentially stuck there, without supplies, and if you use claymores, get killed there goes that location. Waste of a life.

When the game starts I run to crane and camp
When someone finds me? I relocate so that means I camp somewhere else
Crane camping is no cr$p its just when they see you you are dead

Only noob snipers snipe from cranes end of.......
Majority of the time because when I have a go at sniping and some noob sniping from the crane "Bang" bye bye noob boy.
Pick spots that you can escape from and keep moving.

being on the crane is ok, if your good then your fairly untouchable it doesn't matter if people know your there becuase you should be able to pick them off way before they can shoot you especially someone with a SAW.

Sheesh those snipers must have sucked really bad to get hit by a support guy on the ground if that was me i'd have splattered your brains before you'd fired ten shots. And i'm no leet sniper.

The only real threat when sniping on the crane is other snipers on buildings etc.
