well played it. what can you say? this is amzing! although there are a few bugs like blocky movement as in when you move the screen to go and look at stuff. ive owned all aoe games and expansions ever and i will own this one too.i dont understand most of the stuff in this though, like in skirmish(only one ive played) when you go to home town you click on buildings and it zooms in on it but not sure what else you can do in it. and how do you organize troops in to formation i cant see anything that does that.

yeah its taken me off bf2 too, i havent even played bf2 nights yet and i dled it when it came out.

^^^^ you can turn on advanced formations in the UI options. but theres only volley, defense, melee, and staggered formations. hopefully there will be more for the full version.

the only really big thing thats bugging me is that the trees dont fall down, but they already fixed that for full version.

i love Age of Empires series and still play AOC now and then and i'm sure this will keep me going for a couple years too. Of cause the graphics are amazing but it feels a little buggy. for one thing my game crashes every 30min. Its like there is a timer. Just as i get a couple ages up and am about ready to attack BOOOM crashed to desktop. I'm getting a new computer soon though so this probably won't be a problem there. As for trees not falling down, WTF? I build a couple cannon gallions ( are they still called that in AOE3?) and shot at a group a settlers getting wood. Not only did they all die but a patch of trees fell. Shooting at the wind mill was very satisfying too. Each shot knocked out a blade which was very cool.I'm more of a navy person so i'm very pleased with the ships. They look soo nice and appear very functional. You can now build ground units on galleons. This is very nice. Just attack with your ground troops on one side of the enemy island and build up an army on the other. However it would have been much cooler if you could have kept the soldiers on the ships and let them jump on the enemy ship during a naval battle and kill every one onboard. Also the militia men are kinda cheap. They are very inexpensive and build up very fast so if any one is attacking u then just build a lot of them and u would be able to defend yourself very easily. By the way has any one found either the rock/paper/sicors chart for this game or explanation on each unit's advantages/disadvantages? Whats the difference between setting the musket men for shooting or hand to hand? which one is better against which units?

Edit: yea i think it said you can rotate the camera view in the game, how?

i just haven't really seen any of the groundbreaking physics that people were gushing over in the previews. It all seemed like it was just graphics to me, any different for anyone else?

its kinda tricky to get used to the HomeCity feature.

to rotate the camera try ctrl+arrow key, if that doesnt work i think u have to first turn it on in game options or something.

Is not machine hungry at all in comparison to good ol' BF2... Bf2 takes up every possible part of my pc, AOE3 doesn't tbh.
