It can't of been a Blackhawk that you TKed, because you said you got 7 teamkills, and the BH holds 6 players. So either you miscounted the tk's or you hit 2 vehicles, which would be completely retarded! The missiles in BF2 are a complete joke, I can't believe they went through testing without anyone saying "Wow, these things suck hard, let's make them better mkay?"

To improve AA/stinger a little bit, reload time of flares should be longer, or with limited use.

Thing that ****es me off is the community knows this happens yet they will punish for it.... it all comes down to this crap TK system.

Also what some people dont realize is that if a plane TK's you 99.9% of the time he didnt mean it or had to do it to save the flag (say two tanks in the flag area and one of you on foot) AND we cant always type "Sorry", we have other things that might need our attention (such as the enemy jet on my butt or trying not to crash)

If only missiles stayed after their initial targets there wouldn't be any problems.

AA can't hit planes just because missiles stray from their targets a little bit too often. Missiles do get you if your not trying to evade them, but they are more likely to stray and hit friendlies. Same thing goes to jets, missiles seem to evade enemies and hit friendlies instead

Fix this lock-on problem and things are just fine for everybody.

A little tip for you AA guys. Don't shoot passing planes, shoot when they are flying towards or away from you. This way your missiles doesn't have to make tight turns. Turns slow missiles down and they are easier to evade.

Same advice goes to jets, you have to be just behind the enemy plane to hit it properly. Shooting planes straight up to their nose is difficult, but works sometimes.

Can I have two sound cards in one pc and just disable whichever one I'm not using?

It works for me, but you don't need to disable the other card.

I use my sidewinder joystick hooked to the old sound blaster, getting my sound output from the on board card and the mic hooked to the sound blaster.

Hadnt noticed it before but happened to me yesterday.


Was on Sharqi, at the bottom mec uncapturable base across the water on the AA. The US attack heli, was taking out our chopper at spawn, so went on the AA, and he scarperred.

Our heli took off, with my squad leader and another, they wer engaged by the us chopper over the water.

Got a lock on the us chopper, he dropped his flares, waited to get lock on again, and shot 2 missiles quickly, boom tked my own 2 guys on the choppper to cries of wtf all round. Only consolation was getting the us chopper when the missiles reloaded.

It happens with all the AA stuff. I have shot 2 AA missiles from a stinger at a heli hovering ~100m away, the missiles headed straight for it until they were just feet away, then they proceeded to turn sharply 90 degrees and head straight for a friendly chopper, wtf...

I have seen this way too many times. The 90' turn 2 feet from the chopper is the stupidest thing to see in the game, next to dieing because a tank bumped into you or ran over your foot as you stand next to it (placing C4).

Don't you just love it when some friendly is calling out enemy armor and you go down with your plane to bomb the tank and that very same guy who called the armor is standing 1 METER FROM THE TANK§!!

On the missile pary I find myself using machine guns more and more to avoid tk's. When I do use missiles I wait until the enemy plane is flying almost straight but even then the rockets sometimes miss.

My grand total of tk's is about 530 after 100 hours as commander and some 25 hours in a plane. I have 26 kicks from servers in total...

I had a GREAT time last night flying jets on Oman (already mentioned in another thread, but this is what made it REALLY interesting). Setup: 32 player map. USMC- usuall collection of heli-whores (less flares plzkthx!), 2 pilots who were pretty good with those f-35's. Oh, and their comm parked in an Essex gun emplacement, which really caused a lot of trouble. MEC- myself and another pilot in our jets (we were both pretty evenly matched against the US pilots, excepting that I have a tendancy to clip things with the Su's wings), our hapless and heroic chopper team (who I think did okay for themselves, I never had much time to tell though), and our comm in an IGLA emplacement at the hotel.

Things I learned- If you absolutely, positively, MUST break to one exact direction to avoid ramming your target, your wingman *will* be trying to occupy that same bit of airspace and neither of you will be able to see it coming. Also, some people are just damn lucky with the AA missiles- Several times I was tailing one of the f-35's and as we pass over the hotel I start seeing extra missiles trailing up from the ground and *boom* our comm gets the kill. Meanwhile, my missiles are as flaky as ever, homing directly in on my wingmate or deciding that the slow-flying jet in front of me isn't nearly as interesting as the island on the carrier. I got 'TK'ed myself a couple times from picking the wrong time to hop into a fresh jet (aka just as my teammate was firing at the enemy jet somewhere near our airfield... all of a sudden *I* am the new target ><), and I learned the hard way that while the stinger/IGLA emplacements are generally crap for killing jets, the Essex guns will *tear you to shreds* so if there's a smart cookie over on the other team, you can forget about strafing the carrier the way the US pilots can straft the airbase.

Was fun times, but there was a LOT of crazy missile tricks going on that evening, I watched one guy shoot his teammate down for me when my missiles all lost interest (but his decided to skip me), I actually glanced off a blackhawk (took only a tiny bit of damage myself) and apparently sent it spinning into a building or something because a second later the pilot had just been granted some major -teampoints, and I got to find out just how loud they made close-in flybys of jets and copters as 3 or 4 aircraft often passed within 20 yards of each other at one time, all with missiles chasing them and flares falling everywhere.

There's some glitches on the games, this is one of them, hopefully they will all get fix in .3

Hitting a friendly isn't a glitch in the game, it just means you didn't have a firing solution in which you could safely use the missile so the glitch would be yours
