I too thought "Gunner's View" meant what the gunner saw when in TV guided mode. They should have called Gunner Machine gun View instead.

If he's in TV-guided mode... is he still a gunner? A gunner shoots gun, no?

very strange because my pilot says he's always lined up targets for me in the gunner view box and it has worked perfectly.. i still have to experiment with this :P

Long story short, the TV-Guided Missile view sees whatever the helicopter pilot has his crosshair pointed at. Also, the overlay images aren't too useful. I recommend popping up the opacity to 75% or so. Experiment with it until you can clearly see landmarks in both the overlay and the original image. Maybe set the overlay as a subset to the image, as opposed to setting it in the middle where it obstructs the view might work too.

Im not being rude but... What is the point of this? Of course the gunner has a smaller view... besides... the photo needs to be taking from INSIDE the cockpit. When u hit F9 twice, The camera is set to the nose of the chopper. Meaning, no matter what copper ull still have a 180degree front view.

This can be proven by gettin in a black hawk, hitting F9 to remove the cockpit, and then holding left control, and looking back on the chopper.

The Pilot, If anything would have less of a view.
Example, the MEC attack heli has very small view ports, looking heavily armoured.


Also you can look around the inside and out the side windows by holding left control, and moving your mouse while in cockpit view.

So... If anything, the gunner has a larger view, with the capability of being able to turn his HMG

What he is illustrating is what a lot of people had sumised. In order to get the TV on you have to unaturally aim off as a pilot.

you have to especially do this for the MEC havoc because with experience the Havoc TV missles are way below the pilots aim point. And to the person that mentioned about the F9 view, almost everyone uses that view when they fly anyways.

i am bumping this because i am tired of having dumbass pilots, who just sit there waiting for you to take a shot, but little do they know, they are WAY off... and then when you die, he starts bitching at you, when in reality it is his fault. but i found this out over VoIP a while ago anyways.
